I really laughed my socks off at this, clicked onto your web page and really expected to get involved in yet another heated debate on religion, I was thinking 'another DH' etc and determined to put you on the straight and narrow!
All I can say is you must have a death wish?
Sacrilegious? I now know the meaning of the word!!
Don't know where you come from, but I don't expect to hear much more from you in the near future, however thanks for the laugh.

Islam does not allow portraits of Mohammed (pbuh) or any holy figure. I'm not sure if some branches of Islam don't actually forbid any representation of a human.
The ten commandments forbid images and the bowing down to them. In this case making an idol or picture of Jesus and praying to it would be against scripture (not that it has ever stopped the Catholics or Eastern Orthodox faiths)

The second commandment is clear that we are not to make any images of God. It is of no small importance that with all that was written about God, no description was ever provided. Also any image that is made will not truly be an image of God, but a lie.
Isaiah 40:18 To whom then will ye liken God? or what likeness will ye compare unto him?
Romans 1:25a "Who changed the truth of God into a lie"

Scriptures says it all. God Himself said to Moses and the Hebrews in the Old Testament, "Thou shalt not create for yourselves ANY idol..." Any idol including Himself. Jesus idols/images are very much common here in our country (Philippines). And it's sad because what happens is the faith of the people lies not on God anymore but on the idols/images. People seems to need something tangible to represent God for them to be able to pray, to believe in His existence. But REAL FAITH is not like that. Jesus said in one of the four Gospels in the New Testament, "Blessed are they who have not seen yet have believed." That is real faith--not seeing, whether God Himself or just a physical representation, yet believing.

BINGO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You have NAILED it - one of the biggest reasons I chose to leave Christianity in favor of becoming a follower of Judaism.
Not to bore you with details, but as a child through adulthood, I was always confused with the "grave image" thing.
It just didn't make sense.
As I studied various faiths, it occurred to me that my old faith (Christan) allowed for idol worship, in the form of Jesus as manifest in human form and the crucifix.
This flew in the face of the Second Commandment.
Jesus, after all, was Jewish.
I'm quite confident that Jesus did NOT plan on people worshiping HIM, but rather his father in heaven (i.e., God, Adonai, the Creator, etc...).
Thanks for bringing up this point!

In the Christian religion it says you are not suppose to worship idols.. It actually says that in the Bible. So not sure why Catholics do it. They do read from the same bible don't they? I am not religious by the way. So no one jump down my throat.
