I have a full over full bunk bed for my daughter. We bought that size so when my parents came they would have a place to sleep. Is it safe for both of them or one of them to sleep on the top with her under? We are trying to figure this out. My parents are coming tomorrow night and I wanted to know. The wood pieces on the top bunk that holds the mattress are screwed into the bed so they will not be going anywhere. Please tell me what you think. Thanks.

My daughter is 4 and she a little too scared to sleep on the top. plus when she's at my parents house for a few days she likes to sleep with my mom.

To put it delicately, if your folks are of a healthy weight , I would say yes. One adult on top would seem safest. To test this for safety, You or your husband or both should get up there and roll over a few times, as most people do this as they get comfortable to fall asleep. If the bed creaks alot or shakes even a little I would forgo this and figure out another sleeping arrangement. Perhaps you could offer your bedroom to your parents and figure something out for you and your husband in your daughter's room. Good Luck!

They do say 6 but i bought a set of bunk beds that i can use as bunk beds or you can put them together, so that gives me options. But there really isn't enough room to have them seperated and i put my son on the top bunk at age 5. And yes he does wet the bed sometimes but i have a waterproof mattress cover on under the sheets. We haven't had any problems, i was afraid to do it because they say age 6 but i asked other mom's and they said their kids used them so i said okay. The only problem is if he is sick i put him on the couch instead. It is hard to change the bedding up there but if you are limber you can do it. I would think that age 6 was sort of precautionary, if they can climb up and down and don't normally fall out of bed. Make sure the mattress isn't too thick so that the rail will hold them in properly.

Check the weight limitation on your bunk bed before putting them up there just to be sure but it should be fine.

Or if you don't want to do that, let your daughter sleep up there so your parents don't have to climb up the ladder. She'll love it!

Good luck!

It wouldn't be a bad idea to make a place in your room for her to sleep (if you don't want her in bed with you and your husband). When we go to vist our family, we just take the couch cusions off the couch and make a bed on the floor for our daughter.

That way your parents can have their privacy in a room. And they both can sleep in the beds.

it should be fine, but why cant your daughter sleep up top for the night, surely thats easier than having your parents climb up there!!!
