It seems like everyone knows someone who smokes pot. Based on this, shouldn't it be legalized or decriminalized?

yeah i agree. it seems like everyone smokes pot...people you wouldnt even expect. i dont have a problem with it. i dont like to but i dont see what the big deal is. its not a bad thing. and i think people would be a lot more laid back if they did. i mean, if drinking is legal at 21 then so should smoking pot. but same as not driving drunk, dont drive when youre stoned...and also what really really pisses me off...is that cigarettes are legal..most people smoke and its everywhere....that **** is freakn horrible!!!!! it doesnt make any sense...its "okay" to smoke the crap they put in cigarettes but smoking something that is natural isnt...? same with the **** they put in our food nowadays...thats what is killing everyone and giving us all cancer! and weed doesnt lead to other drugs...if youre stupid enough to put hard crap into your body thats ur own damn fault. im so sick of seeing ppl get busted for weed like they murdered someone but then you see all these freakn meth-heads out there just walking around in the world as if they belong...those assholes are the ones who need to go down! weed is not bad...and it doesnt mess with your head unless you become a total burn out...as with anything, moderation is key;)

Well yes. I have known a few ppl, but they weren't in any close relation 2 me. I think the main reason y ppl smoke pot or marijuana or w/e u wanna call it is to make themselves look "cool" and fit in w/ everybody else. A lot of ppl make it seem like every1 else is doin' it, but not everybody is doin' it. I wouldn't say that it shuld b legalized or decriminalized, i would say that the po-po need 2 actually take action and do their job. I mean, i have known ppl that have smoked it @ age 12 and 13. And i was pretty shocked. The older teenagers AND younger adults have a big impact on pre-teens and younger teens. So then they start doing it. But like i said, the cops relly need 2 open their eyes a bit more and stop moping around, Like last year, the ppl that lived on my street had pot 4 at least 3 yrs. then last year they police actualy found it. I thought that was very late. And @ high-school parties they have it available all the time, and they seem 2 not realize it.

I knew several people who did that, now I only know 4 people and 1 of them only use to buy it but now he's a seller, yeah. But I don't really think that it should be legalized because that stuff really ***** you up....... obviously.
But then people put other harmful **** into their systems that are legal like: alcohol and cigarettes.
(But then I also heard that pot is better then cigarettes because it's a herb, but I'm not so sure about that, there pretty much the same..... I guess.) But then, since people do use cigarettes, maybe pot/weed should be legalized or at least decriminalized. Or maybe they should just make cigarettes illegal too.

I don't know? Good question though.

Almost everyone I know smokes it. But then, here in AK it has been decriminalized. There are very specific restrictions placed on it (you can't buy it, sell it, transport it, grow it, or carry more than 4 seeds on your person at any time), but if you happen to have some in your home (magically, apparently) you can have up to an ounce without being fined or arrested for it.

I used to smoke (I quit because I jsut didn't want to smoke it anymore) and I don't think it should be illegal, but I also don't think that the government would have any way of truly controlling it the way they would want to. Maybe if they figure out how to do it (as in with prostitution in Las Vegas) they just might legalize it.

I know several people both when I lived in the US and here in the Netherlands (where it's legal). And yes, I think it should be legalized too! Among all the pot smokers I've known or seen, I've never seen a single 'pot head' who was really out of it, I don't personally know anyone who went on to hard drugs, I don't know anyone who created trouble from being high. On the other hand, I've seen plenty of trouble from alcohol, people who drove drunk, people who got violent or at least very annoying, and a couple who were totally alcoholics and could no longer function normally in life. It's absolutely ridiculous for alcohol to be legal while pot is not.

I know someone who smokes pot. I dont. But I think it should be legalized just because we pour so much money into catching and incarcerating people every year for it. Alcohol is way worse than pot on any given day. People say pot ruins ur life, alcohol does that and worse.

Almost everyone I know smokes except me. Decriminalized? Yes,there is no way people should be wasting tax dollars in prison for smoking a plant. Just goes to show you there are other reasons for it being illegal like$$$$$$$$$$$.

Since pot is relatively easy to grow and illegal. I believe if we knew the numbers of people who either medicinally or recreationally use pot would boggle your mind. I'm sure the candidates the run for government have no clue how many people use pot with out admitting openly. Throwing people in jail for supposedly harming themselves is wrong. We are adults and should be able and encouraged to make our own decisions.

Yes, I do know someone. Yes I think it should be legalized or decriminalized. But not because I know someone who smokes it.

I have never smoked weed, but I think it should be legal. I think the police have better things to worry about than pot. Alcohol is worse than pot, and it is legal. IMO, pot isn't legal b/c it's so easy to grow that the gov't wouldn't be able to tax it.
