HELLO,
CERTAIN BONE GRAFTING PROCEDURES ONLY INVOLVE PLACING A BONE MATIX MATERIAL INTO A SOCKET THAT WAS PREVIOUSLY OCCUPIED BY THE ROOT OF THE TOOTH.
THIS WOULD BE SEEN AS A MATERIA THAT WAS PLACED INSIDE THE BONE SOCKET.
OTHER BONE GRAFTING PROCEDURES MAY BE DONE WHERE A MEMBRANE WITH BONE MATERIAL IS SUTURED IN PLACE TO ENABLE IT TO ATTACH TO THE EXISTING BONE.
UNLESS YOU KNOW WHAT TO LOOK FOR YOU WON'T KNOW THAT IT'S THERE.

after my pariodontal work they did an x-ray to see if it was successful or not.
