I know that I had to go at "folder settings" at the configuration screen, but the setting to view the extensions of files isn't there with Vista.. Where do I edit it?

1. Open a folder or open explorer
2. Click the Layout button (to the left of the Views button) as shown in the picture below
3. Click Folder Options
4. Click the View tab
5. Uncheck Hide extensions for known file types
6. Click OK

Go to Control Panel --> Folder Options --> View(tab) --> Uncheck "Hide extensions for known file types" --> click "Apply"

It's in the same place that is was in XP. Open "My Computer" and click the "Tools" drop down menu and click "Folder Options". Next click the "View" tab.
