Pedal?....... as long as you keep your forward momentum up any wobble that occurs is going to be you psycing yourself out, you have probobly noticed at slower speeds you have to rely more on your own ability to balance .....If riding a bike freaks you out try this (this exercise is great practice for anyone and will improve your technical riding as well) without pedaling put you feet on the pedals (pedals level) with the brakes locked and try to keep the bike balanced, time yourself on each try before you know it you will be sitting there for motionless and balanced for as long as you can stand doing it, i still do this once in awhile especially before riding anything really technical great for getting your focus on.

The last trick I read about for teaching young kids is to remove the pedals and find a slight incline with grass bordering it. It was touted as being able to teach a child in less than half a day. Personally I've never tried this with anyone. Good luck!

If you want to develop better balance, practice sometimes by riding as SLOWLY as you can. You don't have to go anywhere, it even works just going in circles in your driveway. Your bike is less stable as it slows down, so you'll develop great balance as you try to stay upright while barely moving. Practicing a few minutes each day (which is actually more fun than it sounds) makes a big difference.

If you get really good at it you'll be able to squeeze your brakes and stay in one place without falling over (called a "track stand"). Good riders can do it for more than 30 seconds.

I may be all wet on this, but I have been taught that learning balance ona bike, motorcycle, or other two wheel devices came from practice and your body naturally learning how to do it.. To the best of my knowledge, there are no shortcuts.

Dogma has it right. Some even race friends to see who reaches x spot the latest without falling or putting his foot down.
