I had a dream last night and I was talking to this guy on the phone, who is my friend, and he said "I love you" before we hung up in my dream. Does anyone have a clue about wat it means. The guy is not my boyfriend and he does not love me.

Maybe he does love you or you want him to and your subconscious realizes this before your conscious does.

Dreaming of having a conversation on a telephone, no matter what the subject, indicates that a small difference of opinion with your partner could have a much more serious effect on your relationship than you might expect. If someone else phones you up in a dream, you have problems that need to be sorted out within the next few days.

It depends what your reaction was to his statement. If you liked hearing him say it, than maybe you want to be more than friends with him. If you got nervous, it's something you didn't ever want him to say, and you might be starting to discover that he likes you more than a friend, and wants to take it to the next level. If you are just friends, but you want to be more than that, you are probably hoping that he will change his thoughts of you as well. If not, you are worried that his intentions will change, and it might hurt the relationship you already have. The last possability is that you have both been getting more flirty than you have been previously, and you either like where it's going or you don't. You have to ask yourself which catagory you fall into, and decide for yourself what it means to you. Or it could just be a random dream.

Remember, dream have symbols.

This guy in your dream is not actual one you love. It only symbolize what you want. In other words, you are waiting for someone to love and you are looking for a close relationship and so you projected someone to say that to you to smooth your thought.

How he got into your mind you may ask. That comes from subconscious mind, everyone is different in the dream world. But to you, he is only a symbol.

Dream Interpretation is not a science or an art, anything is up to interpretation. It could mean you like him more than a friend and are wistful that more could develop, or your really should have passed up the late night snack you had before bed.

I saw a therapist 10 years ago that believed that dreams were a reflection of our sub -conscious. He and professionals that share his theory would contend that your dream was not really about your relationship with your male friend but about the relationship you have with yourself. There is a theory in psychology that contends that we all have a mixture of male and female attributes. To someone that holds this belief your dream was about how your "maleness" feels about your "femaleness". The appearance of a male friend is just a symbol that your sub-conscious mind uses to help your conscious mind understand the "male" qualities that you exhibit

Truth is that "intelligently" and "dream interpretation" don't really go together very well. Freud was shown to be more or less a fraud, albeit an influential one, years ago. If you try to figure out your life based on your dreams, you may as well just roll a dice before you make every decision. It is the same thing.

it could mean alot of things

my dreams usually have NOTHING to do with my inner-thoughts, hopes, or desires

my dreams are ususally random and mostly revolve around things that I experianced that day

if it were me and I had a dream like that i would lean towards one of the following scenarios:

- i was with him while he was talking to someone else on the phone and heard him say it to them

- someone else told me they were falling for him

- he wore something or did something that made me think he was hot (completely out of the blue) though that is ususally not my perception of him

- I saw someone else do something similar on TV and something in a relative time frame to the event on tv made me think of him

---OR because it's bothering you enough to ask on YAHOO you have been desperately wanting him for a long time and maybe won't admit to yourself because it's something you don't think can or will ever happen

It could have meant that you guys are going to have a really close relationship. Not like boyfriend girlfriend. But you guys are probably going to be great friends and almost like a brother sister thing. And help each other through bad times.

Hope that helps.

Dreams are never literal. People and things in a dream are only representations of things.
There's a characteristic that you like in him and it would seem that you would like to adopt that within yourself.

This could be one of two things.

1. You deep down feelings, sometimes when you with someone else and you feel someone else liking you or you like someone else we tend to suppress those feelings for consideration of that person in our lives. Maybe you suppressing too much and inner you pushes back.

2. You really want him to say those things and not because you feel that way too but because you in a way feel empowered when someone is revealing their deepest feelings for you.
