I think it's lame that you would expect him to pay for your gambling losses. First, playing a slot machine is a lousy way to spend a date. Unless he's standing there looking over your shoulder and talking to you, it isn't interactive...it's a very solo activity.
It would be one thing if he gave you $50 and said "go have fun playing the slots" and then asked you for the $50 back at the end of the date. But he didn't tell you to put your money in the slot machine, especially $50 worth. If you had won, would you have kept all the winnings and still expected him to give you the cash you had dropped into the machine?

Not at all. You shouldn't gamble with money you're not prepared to lose. Next time you decide to visit the casino make sure you've matured enough to accept the consequences of your actions.
I hope he's found someone a little less materialistic to hang around with in the meantime!!!

why should he? If you won $50 would you be giving that to him? then why is it when you lost he should pay for it?
