Don't get me wrong. I don't want to start a "Was Jesus an extraterrestrial?" kind of discussion. That's not my point here.

And I don't mean "x-files" aliens, w/ spacecrafts, funny voices, conspiracies, phasers, etc., but intelligent organic lifeforms like ourselves, living in a planet somewhere, maybe even without the abilities to travel deep in space, like us.

The universe is so wonderful and vast that for me it would be impossible to think that Earth is the only planet that sustains life, so this question seems pretty valid for me.

If they exist, what's their role in the plans God has, at least according to Catholic religion?

A friend says that "aliens, as well as dinosaurs, are demons, so thinking about them as natural beings is like following Satan". And I was like "mmm okay!!!" because dinosaurs existed and I don't think they were demons, and maybe you people don't think that either.

Waiting for your thoughts. Thank you!

Thanks for your answers and comments so far. Now I want to add some detail to the question:

For me, aliens exist, but if some of you have a problem believing in their existence, my question can also be formulated referencing other intelligent populations that we all KNOW existed, but out of our current time/space, such as: Mayans, Aztecs, Incas, Cavemen, etc. All these groups existed in a time or place where there was impossible for them to know the teachings of Christianity. What happens with them? Are they going to hell for not following and recieving Jesus in their hearts, even when there was Zero chance of them meeting him?

By the way, I just use Christianity as a reference because is the most common religion (I suppose), but the thing is that every single religion assures that if you do not follow it, you're destined to be in a place of torment and suffering at the end of your life, and so I wonder what happens with all those people/beings I mentioned at the beginning?

The Bible doesn't say anything about "aliens" the way you are referring to them. Only like an alien (foreigner) from another country. I think the kind you are talking about do not exist, but I know that demons do exist. Jesus said they do. He cast them out all the time. Dinosaurs were real animals God created when He created all the other animals. God doesn't say anything about life on other planets. "In the beginning, God created the Heavens and the Earth." He also created all the heavenly bodies. But it never says there is life on any of them. I believe the Bible.

Dinosaurs existed to supply us with oil, which is why there is such an abundance of oil in the ground. Once their purpose was served, these creatures disappeared. If there are aliens, they are demons in disguise. Not only are demons capable of deceiving us, but they have an excellent recall of the past, since they are eternal beings who were here before Adam.

The entire universe was created to support Man's existence on Earth. Man is God's cherished creation and no other such form of life exists.

Catholicism is a bastardization of the teachings from a flawed, man-made book. The only things of value one can get from Bible are how we are to treat one another and how best we can live decent lives in our society. They are obviously common sense rules and advice. The other stuff is plain baloney. God had no hand in the creation of the Bible, and nobody knows, knew, spoke, or speaks to God. I believe God created all things, and we are not alone in this universe.

I think there is intelligent life somewhere besides Earth. I think that they have their own religions that may or may not believe in a supreme being(s). I seriously doubt they have any of the Jesus-type stuff.

I heard... for aliens to come to earth or to be able to communicate with us, they must have highly developed civilization, which cannot be built on the ground of hatred. Think this way: human civilization developed big time, but unless we change our attitude onto others, we are in the risk of killing ourselves! I think that theory is beautiful and convincing.
So, based on that thought, aliens must want to help us to find happiness in our own lives... like aliens at the end of the movie A.I.

Could aliens exist? Sure. But asking, what part do aliens play according to catholics/christians is about as inconsequential as asking what part do aliens play according to KFC.

Aliens, such as you describe, would the demons Satan sends our way to lies to us, deceive us, trick us, and otherwise hinder our Spiritual growth towards Christ.

Alright, now, this is just my opinion; no one can actually PROVE this, but i believe that God has revealed himself to other intelligent organisms out there like us, just like he did to Abraham. I believe that God has tried to spread Catholicism there, too. Now, maybe he did but it died out, like it might happended if Constantine didn't make the Catholic religion the national religion of Rome. But I do believe God has revealed himself out there and that Catholicism exists outside this world.

They don't play any role in Earth's religions, because they live in their own planets.

God's Plans for them are which ever planet He Created them upon.
