My dressmaker suggested them since my dress is so large and complicated. She said they are designed to feel completely dry, odorless and, of course, you change anyway before your "big night"...

I guess they are getting really popular?
Please no immature "ewwww" responses... thanks.

Why do they have to be "bridal" diapers? Why don't you just get some Depends and be done with it. I'm sure they are the same exact thing, they just market them as bridal diapers so they can make a nice profit. But personally, I don't care how hard it is to get out of my dress. There is no way in hell I would walk around in my pee for God knows how long. I was done with that 22 years ago and will never do it again (or at least for another 60 years).

ewwwww - and that is not an immature response. That is just plain disgusting. Do you have a bladder problem or are you too lazy to use the bathroom? I have never heard of this. I recently found out about astronaut diapers after the crazy lady tried to kill someone.
How complicated is this wedding dress anyway? You should have a slip underneath and some underwear on. If you have a full body suit minimizer on they have crotch snaps so you can tinkle. I took off my wedding dress to pee the first time I had to go (we went back home for pictures in between the church & the reception) The second time, for my husband's 1st husbandly duty he held my dress up! We had quite a laugh. You can have your mom, sister or friends do this as well.

It sounds like everyone has been living in the dark or on anothe planet somewhere.

Bridal diapers have been around for a long time, they go back to when brides wore corsets and such and making a trip to the bathroom meant a big ordeal.

Today, the dresses aren't quite as complicated but some can be rather cumbersome when it comes time to go to the potty. True, the bridesmaid is supposed to help at times like that but still, how many people can you get into a stall in the women's restroom at the church? Half the time the bride and her dress can't even fit in there together.

It really isn't a bad idea. You may normally be able to go for hours without ever having to pee, and your wedding day is full of distractions to take your mind off of things like that. but still. . . . .

Someone mentioned about standing there in your gown in front of people and peeing, well, imagine standing there in your gown in front of people and peeing without a diaper on, now that would be embarrassing, don't you think?

A weddng day is a long day from start to finish and it could mean a long time away from any reasonable facilities. A diaper would be a good idea, it would give you a little piece of security and peace of mind. One less thing to worry about.

I probably be worth wearing one, whether you use it or not.

Congratulations and good luck.

Now that's a question I haven't seen on here before! I can't decide if you're serious or not! I have never heard of anything like this. I assume it would be just regular adult diapers?

I know you said no "ew" responses, but I think that if you're capable of holding it then use a large handicap washroom (with help from a friend if needed) then you should do that instead. My friend had a HUGE wedding dress and I went into the washroom with her and helped her so she didn't sit on or pee on her dress! (Of course I left the stall until she needed me again!)

Anyway, I would personally say not to use them but I guess if you really want to and you're actually comfortable doing that, go for it... Though I'm not sure how your bf would feel if he found out you're wearing them!

I would never in a million years entertain the idea of wearing a diaper to accomodate a dress...if the dress I tried was so much fabric I would need diapers, that would be a deal breaker right there. I would choose a different dress.

People would see you standing there smiling and think you were a happy bride, while you're actually smiling because you're standing there on the dancefloor peeing right in front of all your friends and family....yes, that is a comforting thought!

I think "bridal diaper" is just her fancy name for depends. Unless you have a problem that makes it so you really can't hold it I would skip that. Never heard of it or seen anyone who had them....except that crazy astronaut lady who used them to drive cross country to try and kill her boyfriend. Everybody I know who wears them is for medical reasons, even then I can't imagine sitting in the middle of a reception or ceremony and purposefully wetting my pants. They are not dry and odorless.

I understand about concerns of going to the bathroom in a big dress. Usually brides use the handicap stalls since they are bigger. One of the bridesmaids or their mother helps them remove their dress (just step out of it) then they go into the stall and do their business privately. When they are done they step back into their dress and it's closed up again. If you have the button look down the back putting on false buttons with a zipper is very helpful.

I hope you are kidding....

ewww....is not an immature response in this case. It's a fine response. That is just gross, I'm sorry. Regardless of how large your dress is, you're an adult and should be able to use the bathroom.

If you are an adult, you have the ability to know when you need to go, you also have the ability to hold it. So, when you need to go, find a bridesmaid or your mother. I've seen 3 bridesmaids in a hand capped stall w/ the bride, holding up her dress as she uses the bathroom. You got to do what you got to do.

I would not use those. Just think of a babies diaper. Do you want to be sitting in your own waste, it can't be comfortable. Plus, after a while, it must smell.

This is the funniest question I have heard all day. Thanks for the smile. Seriously though, a dress so big you can't use the bathroom must weigh at least 20 lbs. You'd have to be a weightlifter to be willing to carry that thing around all day in high heels and then add a heavy fluid filled sack between your legs (sorry for the imagery). Anyone who has ever changed a baby's diaper knows those things get heavy fast. That can't be good for your back.

ewww is exactly right. I've never heard of such a thing. I planned on wearing some cute little undies that day, Never in my life could i imagine wearing a diaper on my big day. What happens if you fell over and everyone seen your diaper? you'd never live that down. Just go to the bathroom before you put your dress on. If you're really concerned talk to your doctor about something to help you from going too often. Thats really gross.

well, i wore my dress for a good 8 hours and did not have to use the restroom during that time. i just went right before i put the dress on and i really did not have time to drink anything during the reception.

i think i would have a hard time keeping a straight face knowing i had a diaper on. every kind of diaper, depend, and pad out there have know to have leaks and i rather not have a leak when i am wearing the most expensive item in my life

i think PASS on this one
