http://www.seatguru.com This site is great. You choose the airline, which make of plane and it tells you
Seat width
Pitch (Leg room)
Much more information too about seet choices. It would be a good idea to get seat desagnation when you took or pay for your tickets
I like to book a window seat on my longhaul (Auckland to LAX) because I know people won't be clamering over me to use the bathroom etc

Qantas and BA have the smallest amount of legroom, so definitely avoid them - it is usually around 31". I would recommend flying either with Air New Zealand or Malaysia Airlines who both have a seat pitch of 34", which is the best you can expect in economy. Both are very good airlines with nice food and good service.
You'll probably find that Malaysia Airlines are slightly cheaper - you can get some good prices through Travelbag who seem to have the most favourable contracts.

It might be a good idea to approach the airline or its handling agent at the airport, and pay a small fee to sit where there is the most leg room ie. at the emergency exits on the wings.
Airlines sometimes will allow you to sit there if you pay the fee.
I work at the airport and avail of this from time to time.
Fees range from $40 + + +
Hope this helps.
Cheers.

No, airways do no longer. I dont think of you already know that the airliner expenses hundreds of hundreds of greenbacks, and it expenses $50 according to hour according to passenger for gasoline on my own, then ingredient interior the montly charge the employer makes and how plenty this is going to pay its human beings, and you come across out that airways are no longer something yet jobs, they do no longer seem to be funds making machines. they do it as a results of fact they decide to fly, and in case you opt for them to sacrifice seats for extra room, your gonna might desire to pay for that. airways are centers presented via flight fans who placed their souls into the employer basically for you men to return lower back and compain approximately stupid stuff like climate delays and leg room. I wager you may like it if sometime the airways in simple terms stated "adequate" and you had to take a 2 day practice to florida next time. Oh, and via ways, the airways do get it. Its noted as 1st type. For all financial motives, the 1st type will pay for the finished flight if this is going to pay for any of it. they're the only those that pay airways for the service that they are offering. Your $ninety 9 coach cost ticket to florida expenses the airline $a hundred and fifty, the only reason they permit this is via the fact in case you didnt fly, that they had be out the finished $250.

There's never enough leg room regardless of the airline or the airplane.
Fly business class and you'll be fine!

It will be the location of seats on the air plane that will determine the leg room, advise you travel 1st class if you want to guarantee a roomier flight.

It depends on the plane they're using.
If you join United's Economy Plus, that section has 4" extra legroom.
See if you can get exit row seats, as they have more room in front (although they don't recline).
Use this site to find planes and their legroom:

if you're not travelling first class then your best bet is to pick an airline that lets you select your seat online or thru your travel agent. then select your seats either in the first row or at bulkheads or near the toilets where there are no seats ahead of you.
take your earplugs - cause those areas are noisier - i.e. babies, toilets, galley, etc.
