If only he would kill spiders... I am a lucky victim of arachniphobia; and there was a spider on the wall just this morning...
(Actually, it's still there. Part of my fear of spiders implies that I cannot remove them from my residence on my own. After screaming, I placed a bowl over the spider, then used tape to atach it to the wall. Then, just in case, I covered the bowl and tape with a towel, and taped that on, as well. Hopefully someone comes to help soon... )

Also, I've always been a bit confused by the whole sacrifice thing.
Mankind was evil. Okay, I'll let you have that one, just for shits and giggles.
So god was angry at us, and was going to send us all to hell or something similar.
But because he's merciful, he decided to accept a sacrifice to forgive us. (Not sure why he couldn't just forgive us... but...)
So he actually sent us a sacrifice, his son (or himself, or whatever you want to call him)...
And we killed him.
Of course, we didn't kill him as a sacrifice. We killed him as a heretic, but that's close enough.
So by brutally torturing god's son to death, he forgave us for being evil.
He then raised his sacrifice from the dead, and took him up to heaven.
Yes, that makes perfect sense, now doesn't it?

Because only a sinless and perfect person would do. Jesus was God's most precious gift, because He was God, Himself.

Only a man could atone for the sin of man, and only God was good enough to atone for his sin, so God became man and offered himself as a sacrifice for us.

That would be a new religion started by someone who cannot accept and heed the rules of God. Would it not be easier to conform? Lets change the rules to suit everyone and maybe someone will get there--oops Atheism has already done that.--you deside?

Rather then sacrifce one of his humans or animals, God himself became a human and when to the cross. That way not even something as lowely as a spider or a roach had to die. God himself did it.

Oh no, that wouldn't work at all. God only kills people, and the only way to forgive guilty people is to kill innocent people. That's just how god works.*

Would that make Spiderman the messiah?
Or would it mean Christians would be wearing pewter roach hotels around their necks?
Just something to ponder.

wrong, when you see someone just like you died for you, you take more importance to it. that is why jesus died and not some animal which you even mentioned that you don't care about.
