There is a God. I use to feel that way also. I went through a VERY trying time and I leaned heavily on Allah (SWT). The religion is part of the application of worship.
There were things that my Muslim brother couldn't begin to comprehend I was able to do with the help of Allah (SWT) during that dark period in my life. But, alhamdullah, I got through and I'm a lot stronger and determined.

I have seen dirtiness and filthiness too. I've been to jail. Been an alcoholic and now I'm sober. Stopped smoking, too. I've known people who have died. Been robbed. I Went to war in Iraq. I Came through it all with the help of God. I Have a family and I'm a Christian.
There is a promise though, that regardless of what happens in the world there is a promise of hope for us. The world is too complex to explain everyone of its people and problems. This is the result of man's disobedience and rebellion. And its going to get worse before it gets better. So we need to stop blaming God.
If we believe, live, and love the way we should we WILL receive the blessings He has promised us. Don't let what other people do in bringing about their own destruction take away your happiness and salvation. Just because there is wrong doesn't mean there is no right.
God bless

I am a Wiccan.
I left Christianity when I realized that Christianity was and is just as brutal as all of the other religions and beliefs they preach against. I find the Christian faith to be one of absolutes and that many Christians see their faith as a tool to use against others. If that is what Christ really wants here on Earth, I want none of it. When Christ changes it, I will reconsider.
I chose to become Wiccan because I believe in the practice of solitary spirituality, among many other things. It is a faith and a practice that I can actually believe. The Wiccan Rede is: Do What You Will But Harm None. Words to live by.
Wicca is a new religion, but I believe it is based on the Pagan practices of old - many of those practices were destroyed by the Christians - so it is, to me, a way to reclaim the sacred in my own life.
I find the most disturbing faith movement in the world to be Christianity. Muslims are amatures in comparrison and they are simply reacting to the Christian and Jewish supression they have been held under for centuries and centuries.
Christianity, in its modern form, is nothing more than a justification to be judgemental to other's way of thinking, worshiping, and life. I want nothing to do with it.

I've experienced some REALLY BAD things in my life... and I went through a time where I was mad at God and questioned why He let something happen to someone who loved and adored Him...
but what I've since learned is that He has a purpose and reason for everything and I believe that every little thing, be it good or bad, happens to ultimately bring glory to Him- be it through the gaining of faith or knowledge or just the strengthening of your character. I bet that if you dig hard enough, you can find good in just about everything.

Yeah, I've had rough times in my life too. I still don't believe in god. If there was a good he in no way would make me suffer what I have or what others have, even worse then me. I find hope in my friends and family.

That's kind of a twisted logic don't you think? I've seen many things that I shouldn't have seen in my life, but I still believe theres a God. Do you think that maybe He's testing us. Those that can pull through will gain Heaven, yet those who (I'm not trying to shoot you down, I'm just trying to make a point) can't take it will just give up on Him? I'm just saying. Maybe you should try to reaffirm your belief?

No, you were never a Christian if you aren't now. God's Word, the Bible, says that once you belong to Him, NO man can pluck you out of His hand. Not even yourself. You might have attended church, but that doesn't mean you were ever a Christian.
And I can only speak for myself as far as turning to "religion" in times of diversity. No, I do not. I turn to God.
Christianity is not a religion, it is a relationship with the Risen Christ.

I was religious, and rough times did come. I don't blame God for anything, but I am no longer religious, but more spiritual. I don't think that there is a right and wrong. You have to do what is right for you not what is right for anyone else because when it comes down to it, this is your life and you have to do your best to thrive in the moments you have.
