The war is legal so your brother is smarter than you, congress approved the war. I never say anyone is the greatest person in world but Bush is not some evil person you want to portray him as, seems like your father has a better grasp on reality of world and politics than you do.

Now while I don't think Bush is the greatest man on earth. I do agree the war is completely legal. Congress said he could do it and there weren't even many democrats who said he couldn't.

So if you are going to blame Bush and the Republicans you are going to have to blame the Democrats as well. You can't say the Democrats were duped because they have access to all the information too. Now their staff can't look at everything the Senators and Representatives can but that is still no excuse. The House and Senate intelligence committees get regular briefings.

So did those stupid Republicans (including Bush) really bamboozle those smart Democrats? If that is your opinion I'd be looking for a new crop of Democrats. Because if smart Democrats in Congress can't figure out DUMB Republicans you need to find some that are smarter.

Go find really smart Democrats or maybe at least some with common sense.

Try to relax a little bit, okay. Most kids spew whatever politics they hear from their parents for quite a while before realizing that everything they hear isn't true. I've seen college students eyes glaze over as they recite the things their parents told them and just have to realize they haven't figured it out for themselves.

When you get the opportunity just talk to your brother about how you feel on political issues and ask him questions that make him think. Don't badger him or he'll probably back up daddy's opinions even more.

I was 14 or 15 before I realized that I am a Libertarian rather than a Republican like my parents--but, it took being willing to listen to all sides and having the opportunity to hear from a lot of people who respect me.

And you want to brainwash him to think your way, don't you? Leave him alone and let him form his own opinions.

P.S. your beloved Democrats voted for the war too. Congress declares war not Bush.

Nothing, at 12 he may believe but entering college he will get another 1000 opinions the other way and maybe he will change his mind

The best thing for you to do those is get the kid to find out for himself and make his own opinion on where to stand politically. If you try to teach him republicans are evil well then you are no better then your father, because your forcing your beliefs on him.
