It's pretty accurate, actually! Scientology is a greedy, scamming, brainwashing cult as well as EXTREMELY litigious. And when they had the words "THIS IS WHAT SCIENTOLOGISTS ACTUALLY BELIEVE" superimposed on the screen.... they weren't kidding. It's what they actually believe.
They were a little off on what the e-meters do (that machine Stan held onto when he was taking his personality test). They don't measure "Thetan Levels", but they DO often indicate that an otherwise happy, content person is "actually very depressed" or otherwise troubled and in dire need of Scientology's "technology".

I love this episode. It accurately explains to non-Scientologists what they actually believe. Keep in mind that L. Ron Hubbard was a science fiction writer, so it only makes sense that his religion would be littered with science fiction elements.

Yes, it was very funny. The Scientologists were angry about it, of course. They only give out certain information like that to their members after years of membership (and tons of money). That's why Chef, Isaac Hayes, left the show.

It's also true that Tom Cruise locked himself in the closet because he felt unworthy in the eyes of L. Ron Hubbard's reincarnation. I hear he's still in there.

It was right on, and I was rolling in tears of laughter during that episode. I think it saved me from ever even thinking of going near them.

Actions speak louder than words, and if it hit home enough with "Cheif" to miff him major ... well, the truth hurts & his pain shows how truthful it was.
