This is the situation- two people who like each other and would like to date, but neither of them are very fond of going out. What would be a possible date? And staying at home, depending on the activity, might be too intimate for a first date? Any suggestions?

How about a nice walk in the woods? Maybe just go to the beach and talk for a long time about romance. How about a drive in the country. Maybe a takeout food and a DVD at home. It is a fascinating question because I had to force myself to go out on dates to find a girl, and she didn't really want to go out either. We ended up happily together, but only after we got to know each other, and we have stayed home ever since.

Yes a first date shouldn't be at home. Try someplace neutral and inexpensive. Most cafes make a good low key and low pressure place to meet at.

What do you two do for fun? What are your interests? You could make a game of it. Write down several places or activities you would each want to go to or do. If you have any matches then do that or put all the suggestions in a hat and draw one like a raffle.

Staying home on a first date is too risky. It opens up temptations that would lead to regrets.

A good first date for folks who don't like to date (like me) would be a picnic in the park, or a walk along the beach. Something along those lines that gives an opportunity to talk and get to know each other. Find an activity in common and participate together. Just be yourself.

this is tuff. well its summer now so you can always go to a park/ beach and have a picnic to get to know each other. One a first date the staying home may not be a great idea. I am a person who also does not like going out. I am not sure where you live but a nice afternoon picnic followed by maybe a round of mini golf is not really going out but its a great setting for a 1st date. Good luck

Nothing wrong with curling up and watching a movie at home, yes it could get intimate quicker that way. Yet there's no need to force each other into an uncomfortable situation such as being surrounded by alot of strangers.

How did you two meet? If you met at work or something, obviously you can spend time there if you still work there. If you met at some kind of activity (i.e. a baseball game, a concert, a book club, etc.) you could go to that type of thing again. Just a suggestion, hope this helps!

Maybe each of you can bring a sibling and play a game together, like Monopoly, Life, Checkers etc. Play it on the table in ones backyard. Make cute sandwiches and just have fun. Good Luck

If neither on elikes going out then staying in for the date is fine. just order dinner in and rent a movie, just talk and hang out.

Stay at home with at least one mutual friend. Or walk in a park or go hiking or find some public place to go.
