I have 2. Both mean a lot to me. My first one, covers most of my back and it's an abtract sun. i got it when I graduated and it was my symbol for entering adulthood with all the paths laid before me.
My second is the one on my lower calf. It say's "new Beginnings" in ancient greek (i'm of greek heritage) with vines incrcling it. I went through a rough few years, then decided to make changes in my life, and that is what it represents. Both mean a lot too me, can't pick one.

I have 4 tattoos, and my favorite is the black butterfly on my temple. I have jet black hair and very pale skin and the black butterfly seems to fit in. Also, if I wear my hair down, it's not even noticeable.
I got the tattoo before I started watching an Anime called Bleach (which I am now hopelessly addicted to). And the Death Gods take the form of a black butterfly called a Hell Butterfly. So that gives it even more meaning to me and my husband.

One shore leave as a corpsman in the Navy I got my one and only tattoo. Many Cosmopolitans helped the motivation.
It's in a unmentionable area for this forum. IM me and I'll tell you. The tattoo artist gave me a discount lol.
Such were those Navy days.

I have 4. My favorite is a large piece across my stomach. It's the word faith made out of wooden planks that look nailed together and it has thorns wrapped around it. Its completely colored in . I have a tiger on my back, a friend of mine who died name on my chest and chinese writing on the back of my neck. The stomach was the most painful and that is part of why I like it. Kind of like braggin rights that i could take it.

Seven - the grim reaper with a rose in his mouth. symbolizes where I have been and even though there have been dark times - the rose shows new beginnings.
