should I wait patiently by his side until he graduate from the police academy before requesting more quality time or should I call it quits? I really like him and he's a great guy but he does not have the time for a relationship right now :(

His studies come first...So you better get used to it. If it bothers you so much, then maybe you should move on.

You said request more quality time, which lets me know that even though you may not be getting much, you are getting some. Your boyfriend is trying to make a career for himself so he can have a great future ahead. Those are admirable qualities. At least it's his studies that are keeping him preoccupied & not some random chick, the streets or his friends. If I were you, I'd be supportive and find something else to occupy my time & when I have time with him, I'd enjoy him & show some support and interest in what he's doing. If he prefers not to be in a relationship, let him make the call but don't nag him about quality time, that is something I can assure you, he has no time for. A really great guy with a good career..A rarity..but it's your call..good luck!

Wow, thats a hard spot to be in!

If you really are in love with him you should wait. Find other things to occupy your time. How long is the academy? How long have you guys been together?

Another thing to think about, if he is planning on going on working as an officer after the academy there hours are very irregular, and he maybe pressed for time constantly.

Its up to you to decide what you really want. Do you want to wait for him to have some time, or do you want to find someone who has time for you immediately?

If you really like him I would say to stand by him. It would be selfish to break up with him because he doesn't have the time at the moment. The police academy is time consuming and very draining. But it is only 6 months. What if you were in that position. Would you want him to stand by you? That is the question you ask yourself.

Your boyfriend is going through 22 weeks of hell( most academy's are 6 months or so). He has a lot of laws to learn, defensive tactics, physical training, lectures, he must pass all the tests he is given. this is no walk in the park. he needs someone who can understand the stress he is going through. I bet he leaves home at 0530 or 600 am comes home at 500pm and is wore out. Give him some slack. it will be worth it after graduation. It's a great career he starting with great benefits. When my wife and son pinned my badge on me at graduation it was the best filling in the world. She was the one whom was taking care of my injury's, aches and pains. she was the one who was there for me when I was going through hell. She was my motivation to keep going through it. I encourage you to be his motivation. Tell him don't quit, keep pounding away... ten more push ups, one more mile run, study a little more. It is worth it in the end trust me.

You definately need to be understanding...he needs to focus on the academy and graduate...plus after he becomes a cop he will be working a lot then...so if you can't hang with that then probabaly need to move on...it wouldnt be fair to the both of you...

it depends on how long you've known him for
and whether you can deal with not seeing him.
But i think you should call it quits and pick it back
up if he wants to do the same when hes finished.

if you care about him then you should support him.....dont be selfish....he's doing something to better himself and his future, don't hold that against him.....you should be proud of him....as long as he's showing an effort to let you know he still cares then stay by him
