What is so bad about GLUTTONY that it is included in the 7 Deadly Sins?

The first commandment says "thou shalt have no other gods before me". Anything can become more important than God if you let it. Some people obsess over money. Remember that the rich man could not give up his money to serve Christ. Aything you can't give up if God asked would be an idol.

But, gluttony is not obiesity. Gluttony is consuming everything that pleases you at the expense of others. It is a matter of your intentions. Obiesity is an addiction. Even if the spirit is willing, the flesh is weak. Your heart can be right with God even if you can't stop eating.

Anyway, if you have turned your heart over to the Lord, the bible says that "there remains no condemnation" and that we are free from the law. So, even if you are doing something that was labeled as a sin in the old testament, you are not legally in sin for doing it now unless your heart is to leave God. No other Christian can say that you are in sin. They can not look at your heart. They can only quote scriptures. As a saved person, you are to be led by the spirit, not by other Christians.

Gluttony is a Virtue against Faith and Temperance. Temperance accepts the natural limits of pleasures and preserves this natural balance. This does not pertain only to food, but to entertainment and other legitimate goods, and even the company of others.

any one who eats for no reason other than they are hungry needs help. just because something smells good and you know it taste good doesn't mean you have to eat it if your not hungry. if your eating just to eat and just because there's food there then you should get some help from someone. that's how some cases of over weight people come about. i understand some overweight people carry it from their parents and family members by genes but then there are others who become over weight because they let themselves.
you should never be greedy over something if you don't need it. period its not healthy for you and if you know its not healthy for you and you do it anyways then you are causing damage to your body and as we know you are not suppose to hurt our body's. but hey if you don't believe in the Words you find in the bible then don't worry about it .
you should never be addicted to anything because eventually you become too dependent on it and you stop depending on the Lord. so then the Lord is no longer in First place in your heart and that indulgence that addiction becomes First place in you heart-and that is a sin.
