Hello my friends! I pray that you are all doing well today. I suppose that we have all heard the saying, " God will never put anything on our shoulders that we cannot handle." I have heard that alot, and after hearing it a dozen times maybe it doesn't seem very comforting anymore. But, friends, I am saying it to you again!
Let us look in the book of Job:
The Lord said to Satan, " Very well then, everything he has is in your hands, but on the man himself do not lay a finger" Then Satan went out from the presence of the Lord. Job 1:12
Do you see, dear ones? Satan CANNOT do anything that the Lord has not given him permission to do. Let's look in Luke:
Look at what Jesus said to Simon Peter:
" Simon, Simon, Satan has ASKED to sift you as wheat. But, I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail" Luke 22:31
Oh, my! Do you see that? Satan had to ask permission from God before he could do anything! What do you think that says about us and our situations?

Satan cannot do anything that he has not been given permission to do!! And God will not let him do anything that we cannot handle, dear ones. Our Lord is the Lord of Hosts. That means that He is LORD of ALL. Satan is not exempt from the power of the Lord. God is in charge friends, so take heart. And next time you hear that old saying, think about it a little more carefully. Take comfort in Jehovah--Shalom: The LORD is peace. And remember that He is in charge. Feel free to e-mail me with prayer requests if you wish. I love you all, Cat

Didn't we already report you for preaching earlier?
You can whine about "Satan preventing you from spreading the word of GOD" all you want, missy. There are RULES on this forum, and just because you're a religious nut does not mean you are exempt from them.
Maybe this time you'll learn.

I'm so gladto have this reminder! It gets so easy to look at everyone's else's faults and forget how much Jesus has forgiven us. I learn everyday as i walk with Jesus. Some days are only baby steps but wihth the Lord with me I am at peace! God Bless!

Very good point. I believe it says somewhere in the bible, that God does not wish that any soul should be lost; and he devises ways to ensure that none are; and I'm looking for that passage. But, would seem to mean that our situations are part of our training.

You have spoken the Truth, and what a comfort it is to know the Truth.
satan was created by God Almighty, the creator of Heaven and Earth and All things in it! he cannot even approach God without His authority. And he too is nearing his little run on Earth.
John !5v5
5 "I am the vine; you are the branches. The one who remains in Me and I in him produces much fruit, because *You *Can *Do *Nothing *Without *Me.
And because you preached well for us, I picked this Scripture just for you today;*
7 If you remain in Me and My words remain in you, ask whatever you want and it will be done for you.
8 My Father is glorified by this: that you produce much fruit and prove to be My disciples.
...in His Love,

biggestjesusfan, excellent!
Paul asked three times to remove the thorn (a messenger from Satan), and God said "My grace is sufficient".
“There is no attribute of God more comforting to his children than the doctrine of Divine Sovereignty. Under the most adverse circumstances, in the most severe troubles, they believe that Sovereignty hath ordained their afflictions, that Sovereignty overrules them, and that Sovereignty will sanctify them all. There is nothing for which the children of God ought more earnestly to contend than the dominion of their Master over all creation—the kingship of God over all the works of his own hands—the throne of God, and his right to sit upon that throne. On the other hand, there is no doctrine more hated by worldlings, no truth of which they have made such a foot-ball, as the great, stupendous, but yet most certain doctrine of the Sovereignty of the infinite Jehovah. Men will allow God to be everywhere except on his throne. They will allow him to be in his workshop to fashion worlds and to make stars. They will allow him to be in his almonry to dispense his alms and bestow his bounties. They will allow him to sustain the earth and bear up the pillars thereof, or light the lamps of heaven, or rule the waves of the ever-moving ocean; but when God ascends his throne, his creatures then gnash their teeth; and when we proclaim an enthroned God, and his right to do as he wills with his own, to dispose of his creatures as he thinks well, without consulting them in the matter, then it is that we are hissed and execrated, and then it is that men turn a deaf ear to us, for God on his throne is not the God they love. They love him anywhere better than they do when he sits with his sceptre in his hand and his crown upon his head. But it is God upon the throne that we love to preach. It is God upon his throne whom we trust.”
–Charles H. Spurgeon, “Divine Sovereignty,” The New Park Street Pulpit, Vol. 2, (Pasadena, TX: Pilgrim Publications, 1981), p. 185.
