I was born with a certain religion exposed to me...but I chose mine in the end with no force. I will still listen to other religions and what they have to say, just because I enjoy listening to how a group of people view life and apply beliefs. I guess in the end I picked up things here and there...so I am not really a certain religion, but I am not Atheist either...I guess you can say that I am christ-muslim-jewish-atheist-buddhist-confucionist. I don't disagree with how people want to believe, but I am all for practicing how you want and not how a religion wants...be your own believer.

Explain how someone is "born" into a religion, please. Some people just happen to choose the religion they were raised with. Others don't.
I used to be an atheist, but I became a Christian eight months ago (though I actually believed in it for the last two years, no one could say that I was actually a Christian, least of all me!). I CHOSE to become a Christian, the same as some choose to be Buddhists, Muslims, Hindus, Wiccans, pagans, atheists, and agnostics.
I was raised Christian but never really believed in it.

Both. I was born into my religion, and it's part of my culture (Italian Catholic). My family was very religious. But in my teens, I began seriously exploring religion of all sorts, not just my own. I've attended many different religious services, both Christian and non-Christian. After careful examination, I discovered that no other religion touched me in the same way as Catholicism. I am still open to new religious experiences, and do still visit other churches, but I am Catholic by my own conscious choice, as well as by birth and heritage.

I was born into a religion, but I do not conform to any religion now. I have my own set of beliefs and that is how I live. Organized religions have not turned out to be what Jesus intended, in my humble opinion. I refuse to adhere to one set of beliefs held by an organized religion.

I chose mine, although it isn't actually a religion. I'm a Universalist which means I embrace all of the mystic paths and am not partial to one or the other. I was born into atheism but I escaped that terrible fate :-)

About 40 years ago I decided to get a grip on all the religions so that I could make an educated decision on what I wanted to do with myself - I didn't have much confidence in the religion I was raised in. As I was reading one day, I realized I was reading about myself - I didn't have to become something - I already was ! !

I am a christian. I was born to a Christian family. Though i was born in a Christian environment I had the choice of being a Christian or not. No one pressured me, I did it on my own.

Born a Roman Catholic but became a progressive United Church of Christ member but I also like to study eastern philosophy and apply things to my beliefs from them.
