take 3o minutes off after school to rest and recooperate. Then get to studying while it is still early and you are still in school mode. You will have plenty of time for other stuff if you get it done first.

Yes, study the day before, but i mean the day before the class. So, if tomorrow you are learning about "Order of Operations" in your math class, then today you read about it in your text book. Then you will already know what to expect when the class starts and you will already have your questions written down to ask your teacher the next day. You can study between an hour to two hours with a 10 to 15 mins break. Do not watch TV as you read. Find a peaceful place (library for ex.) Do not study in your bed or in a very conftable sofa that will make you fall asleep. It is better to study in the morning when your mind is fresh than at night when you are already tired. Always have a good breakfast, since your brain needs sugar to work better (not precisely sugar found in candy, but sugar from fruits, vegetables, bread)
Finally,. take a tape recorder, or a digital recording device (you can get an adaptor for your ipod so that it can become a voice recording device) and audio record your classes. Then as you are going back home, or to the supermarket or whereever, listen to your recordings

A neat trick I used was that after I'd read something, I'd pretend to explain it to someone younger than me. It made me use my own words and it pinpointed where I didn't really undertand something. Once you can do this, you're done, whether it took you 5 minutes or 2 hours.
For math the best trick is to just practice. You should to extremely well if you just do the homework your teacher gives you.
Also eat well, get some exercise every day (even if it's just a walk) and plenty of sleep. This will keep your brain in good working order.
I also recommend a lot of leisure reading. Books are fun and keep you thinking... even fun books can give you interesting ideas.

You are sure to get all kinds of good advice. Here is something you won't hear too often:
Take very neat and organized notes, so that you can almost remember what the pages look like. This is good for remembering details and elements when you take a test and write essays. Also, the effort put into taking good notes requires that your brain already deals with the materials in a concentrated way.
Get enough sleep, always!
Try to associate interesting things with items you find boring, so that they stick with you longer.
