I had a job interview on the 30th of May, I sent a thank you letter after that. I called on the 6th to check on my status, she told me they were still making decisions, but had a great interview with me, she also told me that she was thank ful for the thank you letter I wrote to her, she told me she would contact me soon once the decisions are made.
It is now the 15th and i havent heard from her, should i call or wait.
Dont get me wrong iam also looking for other jobs but i really want this one.

I would give them a call. But if you feel better in waiting for a response. Then wait off for another two more weeks. But in the mean time keep up with the job searching. Just in case you might now get this one. That has happened with me. I did wait off for awhile. When I gave them a call back they told me that I was not right for the job. Yes I did have a good job interview with them. Good luck in find a really good job.

You don't want to seem pushy or obnoxious. If they were still making decisions when you called, they were pry still making decisions. She didn't HAVE to say anything about your thank you letter, or even how you did on your interview. She could have just said "Oh, we already filled our position", if she wasn't interested in you. So you must be somewhere high up on her list. The fact that you did send a thanx and called back to inquire was a great idea that more people should do if they are seriously looking.
I would wait until the 20th, even the 25. When that date passes or if you get a call for another job before then, accept whatever you would like from the 2nd choice, and then call up the 1st choice, asking for the status of your interview and if the position had been filled yet. If they tell you they are still making that decision, ask them if they know when they will reach a decision, because you are very interested in the position, and would like to know the outcome either way. Accept whatever they have to say, thank them, then take the other job. (you can always quit that one later) Don't sound annoyed or impatient. Be upbeat, interested in what they have to say, and eager to please.
Because you told them you want to know either way, they should call you to tell you whether someone else recieved the job. If they do call and you didn't get it, ask what the other canidate said or did, or what you could have said or done differently to be consitered in the future. Take what they say, and then let them go. Should future positions come up, they may just hang onto your resume for consideration.
Hope I could help
Angela ;-)

Don't call ....move on. Calling again may hurt your chances...they may get annoyed or decide your desperate... I know how you feel though...I've cried and prayed over many a phone while looking for work....please ring..I want that job.
Unfortunatly...I've also been the one hiring and getting all the calls...sometimes I felt like I was being stalked by people. I'm afraid employers don't think about what you are going thru very often...they think about not getting into problems because they hired the wrong person for the wrong position at the wrong time...etc. Any sign that you have any kinds of problem behavior ...even if it isn't really a sign...is not good for you. Having been on both ends....I try to be sympathetic...but you can't spend your work days worried about the 12 people you saw this week who need jobs...
..good job with the letter...one thank you letter and one call is a great idea.

I know you are anxious about this and that a lot is at stake for you. But, if you stop a moment and think do your really suppose that calling again to let them know your are really, REALLY interested in this job is going to be THE factor that tips their decision in your favor? You have had a good interview. You have written a well-received letter. You have had a positive follow-up telephone call. You have done everything by the book that is suggested to give yourself the best chance of making a good impression and getting a job offer. Now, all you can do is wait.
The only circumstance in which I would call again is if you do get another offer and would really rather take this particular job instead. Then, it would be entirely appropriate to call back and explain the situation. With another offer in hand you could call to let them know you would prefer to receive an offer from them if they are willing and able at this time to extend you an offer.
Good luck. (And, I hope you get that job you want!)

You have done everything you should do, the thank you letter was great. I would call again. State that you are still very interested in the position. Ask IF they have made their decision yet. I think 2 weeks time is long enough for them to make a decision. It would not be rude or pushy for you to ask again. I would not mention looking for other jobs to them, but it's good that you are still looking. Best of luck to you!

Yes call again because that shows them that you are really interested in the job and they will know that . But if they tell you they are still making a decision then they have probably already decided on someone else and they really dont want to tell you that . good luck .

Since two weeks have passed , you wouldn't be considered pesty if you gave her another call . Many times there are so many other applicants , that , though your interview was great - your application may be buried under the volume just due to circumstances . I had a personnel manager who was swamped , so I used to help her out with applicants . many times I pointed out a good one to her ; so I know good ones can be over-looked - simply due to a personnel manager who has too much on her/his plate .
