I use to box a little in the Army and jamming your wrist can be anything from a sprain, to ligament damage to fracture bones. You need to get some x-rays if the pain doesn't mitigate and the swelling doesn't go down after alternating ice and heat for 24 hours.

That'll teach you!
If you can twist your hand from side to side without it being agony, you probably haven't done any major damage and a bit of rest will sort out the problem. If it's very painful to move, see your doctor and get it Xrayed.

Go to the hospital. I fell on my wrist & was in agony for weeks, I didnt go to the hospital, and a ganglion developed. It was more painful than the actual injury and the op i had after! they tend to develop when there has been trauma to the joint. Worth getting it looked at.
