Cheap labor. Big business got him elected and now they are calling in their favors.

There was a rumor going around a few years ago that the Bush campaigners had registered and instructed Hispanic voters who could not read English how to identify and mark Bush on the ballot. Could giving illegals amnesty be his "reward" for putting him back in office? I have only heard the rumor but that is about the only way I can understand how he was ever elected after such a poor show in his first four years. He has violated our laws and got away with it so why not let 12-20 million others do so.

Because his good friends - big business, corporate America, agribusiness, farmers have always depended upon the cheap labor force coming up from our southern border...they need it.

Mr. Bush knows this....YOU know it. Government has done nothing to stop it in over 60 years (I am old enough to KNOW that, by the way)... The ONLY thing that has ever happened is every 20 years or so, they give everyone amnesty... Then it starts all over again.

Those who will be around 20 years from now, will see it again.

Personally, I don't think I'll be here.. It's pretty boring anyway.

Because it's the easiest solution to deal with 12 million invaders. Big business wants them, and big business has a strong hold on government. All the other solutions involve wasting money to maintain a status quo that doesn't help big business. And worse off, closing the door and sending them home won't stop them from trying to get in here.

Mr. Bush, (not deserving of Mr. President, I myself am a true Republican) is a global elite who is hoping he can overrun America with illegal aliens that will possibly spark a civil uprising so he can declare Martial Law through Presidential Directive 51, which he signed on May 9th. Link for this directive is listed below. Have you heard of it? Probably not, which is further proof the mainstream media is in coherts with the global elites who also control our government. Presidential Directive 51 is a very disturbing law the President signed giving him complete power and control of our entire government in case of a terror attack on our soil, civil uprising, natural disaster, and other situations. The last part, "other situations" can include anything they deem necessary. For example, if all citizens protested in the streets against the amnesty bill currently being lobbied, he could declare martial law and arrest every single one of us and put us in detention centers (i.e. concentration camps) that the Department of Homeland Security (otherwise known as the department of citizen harressment) gave almost $400 million dollars to a contractor (guess who, Halliburton, I know it's a shocker) to build inside the US, not in other countries, ON OUR SOIL! Link to Halliburton showing this contract exists is listed below. Mr. Bush has been quoted as saying "If this were a dictatorship, it would be a heck of a lot easier, just as long as I'm the dictator." There is no place for a man like himself to be President of this great nation. He is a traitor and is trying to sell out the American people to his superiors that he bows down to. He also could use this directive to suspend elections, indefinitely keeping power as dictator until security is restored, which as we see from the Iraq war, could last forever. This is the most abusive power grab in the history of our nation. Even superceeding the illegal ratification of the16th ammendment which unlawfully requires citizens to give their hard earned money to the government, effectively enslaving us. This is more than just amnesty, this is a complete assault on the American way of life and our future as free people. Our families did not build this country through blood, sweat, and tears only for a few pompous elites to sell it all away. I in turn, will fight with blood, sweat, and tears to ensure my children can enjoy what our families have worked so hard to build. Please be open to the truth. Do not listen to our fearmongering leader who is nothing more than white trash in a fancy suit. And please, do not listen to the mainstream media either. Both the government and the media have been on a fierce campaign to discredit free thinkers, independent media, anyone who actually speaks up against their insane ideas that a lot of the people have unfortunately believed. All I ask is think for yourself. Do not let the government and media do it for you. That is the one thing God gave us that truly is undeniable, free will. Stand up, be heard, vote for a true Patriot in 2008, Dr. Ron Paul! I will end as I always do. The truth is easy to find when you seek it.

Dealing with illegal immigration is a complex topic.

It seems unlikely that the USA will round up millions of alleged illegals and ship them out of the country, so why pass another law that is not going to be enforced.

It is also unrealistic to pass laws that will be impossible for people to obey.

The goal is to protect the borders, protect the economy, protect the people. The solution will be a compromise of many proposals.

He's trying to garner votes. He's lost a lot of Republican backing during his presidency. His current efforts are to benefit the Republican party in the future.

Because he originally thought it would be an easy compromise, and would ensure a win for him in Congress. He didn't realize how much Americans would be against it.
