"Pepsi Cola hits the spot ;
For just a nickle you get a lot.
Twice as much for a nickle too,
Pepsi Cola is the drink for you."
That was the popular radio ad for Pepsi in the 1940-50's. Of course the price dates the commercial. And Pepsi did come in a larger bottle.
We boys parodied the ad by singing:
"Pepsi Cola is a lousy drink;
Pour it down the kitchen sink - - -".
We drank Pepsi, Coke, RC Cola. The Drug Store soda fountains had Coke syrup which they mixed into soda water to make a "Fountain Coke" . I do not recall if that was done with Pepsi
All the soft drink glass bottles had a 2 cent deposit which you could redeem when you brought them back to the store. The bottles were recycled. This was before cans.

Yummmm...love it! But I have to be quiet about it and very careful about when I buy it...we have a good friend who works for Coke! My favorite is the Pepsi Freeze (the slushy drink) they have at our local movie theatre...I think I'll go there tonight!

IMHO, an inferior taste to Coke for a pure cola flavor.
Mt. Dew rocks, though!
