I have heard such outragous claims made by religious people personally.

What sorts of nutty, and funny claims have you heard from the mouths of the faithful to the ears of "god" ?

It's a list of ridiculous conversations taken from actual online conversations with fundamentalist Christians. There's some great stuff in there.

My personal favorite:
"No, everyone is born Christian. Only later in life do people choose to stray from Jesus and worship satan instead. Atheists have the greatest "cover" of all, they insist they believe in no god yet most polls done and the latest research indicates that they are actually a different sect of Muslims."

Yes, that one, that fake dinosaur (and early man) bones were planted by scientists or even by the devil himself.

That baby animals were taken onto the Ark and that's why they were easier to handle because they know the adult animals would be too hard/dangerous to take on a boat.

That dinosaurs were on the Ark.

That a giant wind is what parted the Red Sea (never mind that the people and Moses would have been blown away too).

I've heard many other stories but I can't think at the moment. I'm looking forward to hearing other answers, though!

Umm...As a Christian, I have personally seen the bones of dinosaurs and know of two sites where they were found.
I am of the opinion, that for every smart intelligent person out there, who can take the bible and relate it to the real world, there are five people out there, who are too lazy to do their own research.

And it's not just Liberals who create myths. I've seen conservatives do it too.

interior the Bible it states that God created all existence, even though it would not communicate with regards to the approach. possibly it is how God creates, slowly and after passing via many types with the aid of organic decision. The Bible would not communicate hummingbirds or platypus the two, in actuality, in simple terms itemizing the species of animal around on the time of Christ might take a volume larger than the finished Bible. The time of the Dino replaced into previous on the time the Bible replaced into written, and there are in all probability extra advantageous mysteries than dinos available that the Bible would not point out. i don't think of it impacts the validity of the two that dino's are not stated in a holy text fabric. in simple terms an thought from a non-Christian.

That all animals were originally plant-eaters before 'The Fall'. That the Earth is only 6,000 years old. That all the pain and suffering that has ever occurred in the entire history of the human race is a reasonable and just consequence of one person eating a piece of fruit off a tree.

Anyone who seriously believes any of these absurdities must be of questionable sanity.

I used to have a good friend who as was Seventh Day Adventist; and she was absolutely CONVINCED that dinosaur fossils were created by Satan himself in order to confuse people and trick them into believing Evolutionary Theory.

It was also rather dumbfounding when a door-to-door insurance salesman stopped by the office (we used to work together) and she was the person who met him at the door. She very matter-of-factly explained that she didn't need insurance, because the world was going to end soon and she'd be going to heaven, so she didn't need to be "storing up treasures here on earth"....

No. But "dragons" are myths created by peoples' encounters with some of the last remaining dinosaurs.

At the church I used to go to, right after 9/11, the pastor told us that 9/11 happened because of our sexual sin. He claimed that even if we personally were not guilty of sexual sin that we were still guilty for not doing enough to stop the rest of the country of doing it and that's why we were attacked.

I stopped going there and now belong to a liberal church that offers comfort rather than condemnation to scared people.

I am a Christian, but I wonder about some of my brothers and sisters in Christ.

Like, no one has ever been able to explain to me why a GAY MARRIAGE will destroy mine? I mean, if I were gay or my husband was, maybe, but that would be an individual thing.

How does a GAY COUPLE getting married have anything to do with me?

and HARRY POTTER!

Why is reading Harry Potter prepare you for H***?

These people turn people away from Christ.

Have a good day.
