If someone is possessive, they are either very insecure, maybe with low self esteem, or they do not trust you out of their sight. Either way, not a good foundation for a loving relationship. A person needs the freedom to be who they really are to be happy and a possessive person stifles this. The possessiveness probably manifests as anger which would make the possessed walk on eggshells. Not a good path to freedom. And why be with someone who doesn't trust you? If you are not trustworthy, work on that before you look for love. Be possessive over a pair of shoes, if you must, not another person.

To some extend yes.
BUT the amount of possessiveness should be rather small, otherwise it is not healthy for a relationship.
Too much possessiveness is also a sign of insecurity.... but maybe the person being possessive is insecured by being hurt before,
True love is what what makes both partners 100% comfortable, preferably all the time!

Who the hell said that?
No. You don't love a possession because it doesn't have the potential to love you back.
You shouldn't have to be possesive of someone if you truly love them either because they are there and it is what it is. It's stable and secure and you don't have to worry about it going away. So no - possessiveness is a sign of insecurity not true love.

well it is very hard to describe from Ur point of view, what i believe is about possessiveness is a temporary motivational sequence, could be for any thing, and it goes off when your got attracted to somebody/ something else.it is not exactly a true feeling of love, for that you have to be passionate then that may consider the feeling for love b'coz passion can not be on temporary basis. so try to be passionate in stead of possessive.

No ..absoultely wrong... possesiveness is also like a greed that no body else must look at u or u shouldn't move with any one. Thats always a trouble.
Love is boundless. Love is trust. Love is selfless. These r signs of true love.
Don't u think so?

Nope, someone who loves you will be with opposite of that; they will be understanding, caring and want the best for you. It is a sign of someone who has to have control and a sign of his own insecurity which is not something you want to get wrapped up into. Stand up for yourself and don't let him control you no matter what. The main thing is make sure you do what is best for you and what makes you happy.

To some extent it is ok! But the moment it exceeds limits it is bad for the partner-coz today no one likes to be tied down! One can see so many relationsa breaking off coz of over-possessiveness!

Actually, I would say that possessiveness is a sign of dysfuncton and insecurity. "True Love", in my mind, would mean being spacious, trusting and open.
