Allo Allo my little sausage,
You are having some lovely thoughts about giving your family a break in my part of our beautiful country, you refer to driving, from County Down, a really beautiful County in its own right, but you would like to come way out west, at the driving wheel, Great, leave your car at home and hire yourselves a camper van, do your own shopping and go Camper driving, Bord Failte' would advise you of all the campsites available with hook-up facilities anywhere in Ireland.
You could almost stop and re-start your journeys almost wherever you want to, and not be confused with any of the travelling fraternity, and the same Bord Failte' on where to get the Static caravan sites too, and how to get there. If you can stretch your trip to a week, two things will happen, first, the caravan rates may well be cheaper, and second, we would have ye all here with us for longer, and that has to be, well worth the time spent amongst us all. You can really trust Bord Failte' to find you a lovely caravan, well situated, and above all, in a safe and well presented environment to tire out the children for you, with all the adventures they would find on such Caravan sites. You could almost choose your own beach with the amount of them we have on our side of the country, and lots of wonderful pleasant memories would be deeply implanted into everyones mind too, just, for what you are thinking of doing for your Mum and the rest of the Family you would like to take with you, and of course, the childrens memories will last the longest, so don't forget the camera, and loads of film, for lots of pictures. Keep the pictures from the children and give them copies of them on their wedding days. happy tears again on those special days too, and one more point, my little Sausage, it will all be, because you made it happen, Please stay safe and be happy...Good Luck now...Tony M

County Down is a good day's journey by car away from Donegal - these are Irish roads you're talking about.
Bundoran is supposed to be a family-friendly seaside town, so there would no doubt be at least one caravan park you could try. A website you could try is www.local.ie.
You could also look at Ballybunion in the SW, or Spanish Point. There is a beach called White Strand just off the road from Miltown Malbay to Lahinch, with a caravan park beside it. But Miltown Malbay/Spanish Point will be very busy in early July with the summer school that takes place there.

at the beginning, you would be fortunate to discover everywhere low fee to stay in eire regrettably! Our lodging is costly, even the B & B's, yet as quickly as you get that regarded after your would have a blast!! i might advise my county city of Ennis in Clare as a commencing element. it particularly is decrease than 30 minutes force from Shannon Airport so which you won't have an prolonged adventure after your flight. There are some stunning inns/guesthouses and a sparkling hostel beginning in 2009. you're additionally basically a short highway holiday removed from the west coast of eire which has a number of the main breathtaking perspectives interior the rustic, reckoning on the climate of path! there are various pubs and eating places in Ennis and in all the villages between there and the coast. there is often some subject to do at night, the two classic music interior the pubs or look into the golf equipment. A bus holiday will deliver you to the two Limerick or Galway city. the two good for procuring yet Galway is plenty prettier. Take a ferry out to the Aran Islands from Doolin in Clare and adventure how existence was. wish you appreciate your holiday, the place ever you establish to pass interior the top!

Achill is a lovely spot in the West of Ireland but I don't know if there are mobile homes there. The B&B rate is very reasonable.

Galway is a beautiful small port city with a humungous river flowing through it. Some great pubs and an excellent fish restaurant.
