Wainscoting kits feature completed stiles, rails and molding, and simple place and nail installation is all that is required. However, because there may be some cutting involved, you must make sure to have the right installation tools on hand. If the panels require specialized cuts, or if your walls feature wall outlets or baseboard heaters, or if you prefer custom wainscoting, it is best to seek a professional installer for the job.

I used to be a millworks specialist at a Home Depot. Go to Home Depot and talk to a specialist in the millwork department. He/She will tell you how to install wainscoting. There are also some do it yourself books by the pro-desk that will have the info you are looking for.
