Oh, and it kind of creeps me out that I can be eating what was on the bottom of your shoe... Dog crap, chemicals, who knows.

^ lol. What did it say on mythbusters?
I don't use it mainly because I have a dog and I think, "If I use the five-second rule from the floor, its like dropping something into my dog's mouth and eating it, or a person's bare foot, both of which are gross. I just give the thing to my dog :).
Here is a funny video about the so-called five second rule: its kinda gross...

i saw this thiing on opera and it was where she had doctor OZ or w/e his name is and he said that the 5 second rule isn't true and you can leave in on the ground for more like 20-30 seconds before any bacteria starts to cover it. So it's more like a 30 second rule rather than a 5 second rule C:

Haven't you watched the news lately, for M&M's you have about 3 minutes till germs start to form and apple slices have about 30 seconds...

Yep. I've always believed it to actually help the immune system. Just like all kids need to eat a certain amount of dirt growing up!

No. Ew. I have seen that episode of Mythbusters, Great Show. Makes you think twice don't it?

Never used it, it was obvious that didn't work even before Mythbusters checked it out.

Depends. Dry food on a reasonably clean, dry surface, I might. Odds are I'm putting as much bacteria on the thing with my fingers, so what difference does it make? Wet food or wet surface? Definitely throwing it away.
