I met this guy a while ago, and just last night, he proposed, with a ring. Is it possible to plan a wedding in less than three months, and get a wedding gown made?

You might be pressed for time on the dress if you don't know a good seamstress but you could have everything in place in three months if you want. And there is a book I saw at the library that might help.

Heck yes if you have the money.... Depends on what you are expecting of your wedding. I wanted the lavish, white gown, reception, flowers and the whole 9 yards. Seems like a lot of waste now. I wish I would have saved my money and just spent my money on the honeymoon and reception. You can find a lot of wedding dresses that will suit you without having one personally made. Shop around. The last thing I would be worried about would be the dress. Reception hall, church, pastor, licence, cake, food for reception would be the first priority. Making sure the dates are all available.

My advice... Take off elope and have a heck of a party afterwards. Go on a exciting honeymoon. It's a time you should never forget. Believe me spending 1000's of $$ on a wedding that only lasts 20 min. is a waste. And your soooo stressed out anyway you won't enjoy the reception.
But like I said if you have the money, and someone to hand off some of the responsability too (family and friends) you could really enjoy "YOUR" day.

u can buy a gown on Ebay, get it in 2 weeks, take it in to get altered within a month. lol There dress done.
You CAN plan a wedding in less than 3 months, but I'm going to assume you want to be married by the end of September, and that is going to be hard to plan when most places are already booked up until December, January. You can get it done if you start now, and make some quick phone calls. good luck.

I wouldn't recommend that you plan a wedding in 3 months ... there is no real reason to rush. A wedding gown usually takes 6-8 months to get made unless you go with a David's Bridal type boutique. Take your time and figure out what you really want - no need to just get it over with. Enjoy the planning and the wedding!

Absolutely. It is harder to get a hall, church, caterer, band or deejay on that short of a notice , but it can be done. If you just get the marriage license @ the courthouse, and just have a reception party it saves on the cost of having a big ceremony. SEcondly there is a place called David's Bridal, which has alot of dicounted dresses some of which are $99.00. It costs extra for alterations ( so if you had a friend or even a place that does it cheaper go there... but make shure to do it early.. alterations can take from 2 weeks to a month)
Do either of you have family that is willing to help out?? Food wise. Catering and sit down dinners can add up BIG ! Disposable cups, plates and dinnerware are the best and you can dress up the dinnerware with ribbons hot glued to match your colors. A light meal with a choice of 2 meats and 2 sides , with bread and salad is the usual. A nice addition is having a "snack " table for later on in the night if people want to munch or didnt come for dinner. MAke shure you secure some kind of entertainment.. whether its a band or a deejay..
( I acutally am a DEEJAY) Your guests will get bored very easily....
And finally get a BARREL of BEER!! At least let them get some tappers for free!! Table arrangements can be made from vases and glass candle holders you can get from the dollar store. Dress them up also with some ribbon, candles or sand with glitter for centerpieces for your guests to take home...

IF all else fails.. Get married in Vegas and have a Reception Party when you come back and can afford to do it the way you want.

But if you want to do it all at once the most important things to have are:
1.The Hall (try a V.F.W. Post of park rec areas-cheaper than a traditional hall)
2. FOOD
3. Beer/Soda for FREE or other drinks
4. MUSIC

Most of all have fun, its your day!! If you need anyother budget saving tips.. feel free to ask .. i have seen a million weddings from big and flashy to small and quaint!! I have got tons of ideas!!!

Get a good planning book so that you won't forget any important details. But at the same time, don't obsess about the small details. If everything is not 100%, let yourself be happy with 90%. Dont stress out.
What about ready made gowns? There are lots of possibilities. Start looking.

Yes on the planning not sure on the making of a wedding dress... My advice book you facility first and then work around that..... Wedding , reception and dress are the three big things and yes it can be done... My husband popped the question on March 3rd we just go married on June 9th... had a wedding of about 60 people with only one attendant each......

Good Luck to you....

It's absolutely possible! I'm doing it right now! The trick is that you have to be willing to be flexible and take what's going to be easy and fast sometimes, and pick and choose which details are things you HAVE to have exactly the way you want them.

Find your space ASAP. Then get your florist/officiant/organist nailed down. If you have to have a caterer, good luck, but what I'm doing is just having hor'deurvres and cake and punch, much cheaper and my mom and I are making everything but the cake ourselves. You don't have to go to a frufru bakery to get a cake-- Kroger makes BEAUTIFUL wedding cakes for relatively cheap and they only need 2 weeks notice. Dresses can be a little difficult, but I got mine at Alfred Angelo and it was shipped straight to my house within 6 weeks.

You can do it! It will be stressful but it IS possible.

You can do it. I doubt you will be able to get a custom gown without paying a ton for rush charges. You will also have to be prepared to be really restricted on the available locations and pay extra because you are booking everything last minute. I wouldn't reccomend this if you are a budget bride or trying to DIY.

Sure, if you get a dress that doesnt require a lot of alterations, make reservations for a hall/church that isnt in huge demand, are willing to look around for a caterer that isnt already booked, etc. It can be done, but you'll have to be flexible.
