Well my mom has this new rule. When I get home, I cannot change out of my school uniform (Mon.-Thurs.) until all my homework is completed. Studying for tests do not count, but if I get a C+ or lower, I have to wear my school uniform all day Friday after school. I'm not even allowed to untuck my shirt when I get home. As for the weekends, Friday I can change when I get home (unless I got a C+ or lower). Saturday, I can wear whatever I want. But Sunday, after 8:00 AM Mass, I have to change into my school uniform and stay in it until all my homework is completed. I'm free to do any work on Friday and Saturday, but I'm usually busy those days. And since I'm in honors classes, and since it's a Catholic school, I'm get so much homework every night, especially on the weekends. So is this fair for me?

Yes she can. It seems that she is using it to discipline you. I would say that being required to wear it would be incentive to complete your homework early.

If you are really an honors student and get good grades, I think you may be able to NEGOTIATE your way out of this requirement. It seems like a reasonable thing to do.

Your Mom loves you and she is worried about your grades. She is trying to find a route to teach your self-discipline. It doesn't seem fair but it is less about what she has imposed and more about giving you a frame of reference.
The uniform says...
I mean business...I am a student and I am serious about my work.
I see it as a similar thing as wearing the correct garb in ballet class or Martial Arts. Yes, you can do the work in a different outfit, but it is a subliminal message to your brain....
She has your best interests at heart. You might try to negotiate this. ie If my tests come back at such and such a level, may I do my homework without the uniform?

Moms sometimes have a seemingly strange way of teaching you a lesson, or instilling discipline that will only make sense years after. That is your Mom's creative way of making you finish your homework, and if you actually do well in school it shouldn't be too difficult at all. If you have free time at school, do your homework so you won't have to stay in your uniform at home or on Sundays.

Would you rather have to wear your school uniform or be grounded for a week? Either way, your mom should make your punishment stronger than just wearing your uniform, and WHY is she happy with a C+ grade? Shouldn't she be trying to get you to make As, or at the very least, a B-?

Personally, I think your mom should make you wear sweatpants as punishment. Your legs are kind of scrawny and not very shapely.

Poor you :-( I can see your mum's logic, though.
Getting your homework finished on time is more important than you think

When I was at school my parents and teachers let me get away with not doing my homework, and now I have struggled with my degree cos I have really poor motivation to get on with the work, and am always rushing it at the last minute

It may not seem fair, but it is only her way of trying to give you more incentive to not only get good grades, but keep them.

Yes, she can make you do this, if you are a minor then she can make you do anything she wants that falls within reasonable and legal standards.

So what does "fair" have to do with anything? Life isn't fair! Your mother's house, her rules. If you don't like it move out.

Well, it does seem a little silly, but: It's her rules, her house and her money going towards a private education.

your mom is smart....wearing your uniform bothers you so she makes you wear it...she is your mother and you have to listen to her....get those A's and lose the uniforms kid, she is doing this for your own good...good job mom!!!

Of course your parents have authority over you,but forcing you to wear certain clothes while performing chores is sort of over doing it if you ask me.I believe in discipline, but this seems a little sadistic.Try telling them you'll do the work, but to ease up on the clothing rule.
