I was baptized in the Name of Jesus. Notice the singularity ...

"Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the NAME of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." -- Acts 2:38 KJV (Emphasis Mine)

.. And I did receive the promise and gift of the Holy Ghost. Hallelujah Jesus! You are worthy!

I am not sure what the confusion is about. I pray that everyone will open their hearts to this precious gift.

May God Bless you all!

Yes, the Apostles baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, which means they baptized according to the will of Jesus Christ, which means they baptized in the manner Jesus Christ commanded, which means they baptized in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. No other format is valid.

No, I do not oppose being baptized in the Name of Jesus. That is how I was baptized. To get into the Bride of Christ, you have to take on his name, just like I did when I became the bride of my husband, I took his name. Jesus did say baptize in the Name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost. That name is Jesus. The Bible also states, do everything in word and deed, do it all in the Name of Jesus. Being baptized falls under the do everything in word and deed. Most people will end their prayers, "In the Name of Jesus, Amen" but don't want to take on his name in water baptism. I don't understand that.

I approve of being baptized in the name of Jesus as opposed to being baptized in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit... if that's what you're talking about. But I don't think it really matters if your heart is in the right place. In the name of Jesus seems to be the early church method.

My parents told me that I was baptized when I was an infant. However, I CHOSE to be baptized at the age of 30 in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

I believe it is perfectly acceptable for a Christian to have their child dedicated to the Lord or "christened" in that way. This is a promise parents make to God to do their best to raise their child in the Christian faith. However, the bible clearly states that baptism is a means of publicly declaring your faith; we are ALL required to repent, accept Christ, and be baptized. Therefore, having an infant "baptized" seems meaningless in my opinion, since an infant clearly is not able to make that decision for themselves. Nobody can get to Heaven on somebody else's faith - the personal decision to accept Christ must be made by each individual.

Acts 2:37-38 Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call."

Acts 2:41 Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day.

When each of my daughters were about 10 years old, they asked if they could be baptized in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. THEY made the decision - not us.

No, I would not want to be baptized again.

I was born to a catholic family, and I already received 4 of the 7 sacrements.

Now, I am an atheist, I would not want to be re-baptized.
