Well my mom has this new rule. When I get home, I cannot change out of my school uniform (Mon.-Thurs.) until all my homework is completed. Studying for tests do not count, but if I get a C+ or lower, I have to wear my school uniform all day Friday after school. I'm not even allowed to untuck my shirt when I get home. As for the weekends, Friday I can change when I get home (unless I got a C+ or lower). Saturday, I can wear whatever I want. But Sunday, after 8:00 AM Mass, I have to change into my school uniform and stay in it until all my homework is completed. I'm free to do any work on Friday and Saturday, but I'm usually busy those days. And since I'm in honors classes, and since it's a Catholic school, I'm get so much homework every night, especially on the weekends. So is this fair for me?

I don't really see that big a problem with it its just a school uniform. She is doing it to motivate you to make sure that you get what you need to get done rather then to play. Its not the worst thing in the world don't stress over it just get home do what you have to do then change.
I just read all your questions and man do you have a problem with that stupid uniform!!! Get over it its just a uniform youll be out of school soon and wont have to deal with it.

Sure, that's fair. How are your grades? She's only trying to think of creative ways to get you to finish your homework in a decent amount of time instead of watching over your shoulder and nagging you all afternoon about opening your books. She cares, that's great! so get your homework done fast, and I bet she would love it if you went to her for any help you need with her homework ( and sometimes even if you don't need the help, ask her opinion anyways).
My best friend in high school didn't graduate because she dropped out in her junior year, and went on to start a fire in a hotel room because she got involved with drugs to make some money ( I was far away in the military by that time thank God). Her mom didn't care. She didn't make her go to school, was never there for her, and didn't help or ask her about her homework ever! By the way, her mother was a teacher, and also taught Sunday school. How wrong is that, when a parent is a teacher but lets her daughter fail miserably.
She cares, be happy!

I guess she CAN make you do it; but the question is, SHOULD she make you do it?
I am a mom too, and I prefer that my children be as comfortable as possible when they do their homework. I like to be comfortable when I work, and the results are better. I think this is true for anyone. We all do better work when we're relaxed.
Why don't you nicely tell your Mom that you feel that you can do a much, much better job on your homework if you can change into something casual after school. You might also want to mention that a snack gives you extra brain power to do your homework, but you're afraid you'll spill something on your uniform if you are still wearing it.
I went to Catholic school for 16 years (all the way through college!) and I sympathize with you. I hope your Mom loosens up a little on this issue.

Can't help but wonder about the TRUE motivation behind this and your other questions. After all, your user name is TRICKYONE9911. Think you're just playing up the "school girl" fantasy. How's that working for you?
PS If I'm wrong, and you're just that naive, apologies! Be careful though, the web can be a dangerous place and you don't want to attract the wrong type of attention. (Always remember-don't give out your personal information because you never know who you are REALLY talking to.)

She's the mom, she can make you do what she wants. Apparently, she thinks you'll get your homework done faster if you have to wear your school uniform. Best thing you can do is hurry up and get your homework done so you can change your clothes.

She's the Mom. Do what she says. You may not understand but if you have questions, ask why? But she has a reason and maybe it keeps you more focused. We never understand our parents as kids, but believe me when you get older and look back, you may be able to see their reasoning.

It's not fun, but that's what having a parent is all about. I guess it will motivate you to get good grades and get your homework done quickly each night!

Parents don't have to be fair. It's not something I would choose to do with my children, but she isn't breaking any laws by what she is doing. If you don't like it, keep your grades up. Being a parent isn't about being fair, it's about getting your children to do the right things.

She's your mom...she makes the rules. As a matter of fact, this sounds like a good idea...I may use it when my daughter starts school.
