Any time I receive a violation notice I always send back a response asking for clarification of the violation.I have no idea what happens when I do as I have never heard anything back.

If you got two violations this quick on R&S and both were about Ruth Graham someone doesn't like you. They may be stalking.

There are two sides to this. One is just the fact that some unreligious person probably reported you to be mean. Unfortunately, that is the nature of some people, and Yahoo! is limited in what they can do about it. The other side, however, is that the person would at least have to make an argument that you broke the rules. The only rule I can see that you could, arguably, have broken is this:

"Do not 'Solicit others for any purpose.'"

Arguably, asking for prayers is soliciting. The purpose of this forum is to ask questions for which you require an answer. It is about exchanging information. Asking for prayers is different. Aside of "Ok, I will," there is no answer to that question. It is less about the exchange of information as it is about garnering prayers. So I can kind of see their point... but the only reason anyone would report you for that is to be mean-spirited.

All that said, I might add that it is totally unfair that Yahoo! deletes questions and answers without providing you with any explanation whatsoever. That is not right.

Some person with mental difficulties may have "reported" you. Their justification would have been that it wasn't a question but a request. There are people who have such a low view of their own importance that they have to build it up by ultra policing everybody, and they will usually come into the religious section to do that.
I don't think YA has any idea what is going on - it may even be a robot that responds automatically to those reports.

It probably is not considered as a valid question. However, you can appeal it and Yahoo will explain the reason if it violated their terms. You might be able to get your points back if they agree with your view. Here is a link for appealing violations:

How is it spiritual or religious to ask people to pray for a dead woman? No offense meant. I just think someone's got a bug up their butt today and are going around arbitrarily reporting people.

Hey, I got violated for asking for a moment of silence when Kurt Vonnegut died, and I didn't complain.

You can't...the sad part is we are only in the beginning of birth pangs (Mt 24:8) and it's getting worse. God sees your heart, don't worry about the persecution that comes at the hands of man...They hated Him so they are going to hate us.

Play within the rules though, we don't need you getting kicked off of YA.

I saw on the news yesterday that Ruth Graham had died.

Is it possible that Yahoo! R&S might have contributed to her death by not allowing your prayer request? (They were merely enforcing their Rules.)

Is that really why you're upset?

A prayer request is not a question in any way, and it is violation of the TOS. Simple.

It should NOT be a violation but unfortunately yahoo considers it to be. It isn't fair but in the end it is yahoo's decision.
