Every so often, my ankles and knees cramp up. This causes a lot of pain for me and sometimes it hurts to put weight on it. There is more pain in my ankles than my knees, though. Sometimes it happens to both ankles, and sometimes it is just one. Before I thought it might be just growing pains, but I am 15 and I haven't grown in awhile. Any suggestions?

Just because you don't see yourself growing, doesn't mean you aren't. Your muscles and joints are continuing to grow and develop despite the fact that you don't see yourself getting any bigger.

It could be growing pains, but it's a good idea to talk to your doctor about it just to make sure, since there's always possibilities it could be something else.

I've been running for about 25 years. It could mean a lot of things. It's probably just normal wear and tear on your joints. I would suggest osteo-chondritin glucosamine. Some people swear by it but I don't think there is any scientific proof that is actually works. Still, try it. Also, if you're overweight, you might want to try exercises that require less friction, less pounding like you get running. You might want to try cycling or an elyptical machine. The other thing that an orthopedist told me was to take an aleve (naproxin sodium), or motrin (ibuprofin) a couple of hours before you go running. Also, stretching is very important before and especially after running. ;o)

Uh it could be ur body changing or maybe u pulled a muscle or walked on it funny. That sometimes happens. If it doesnt go away in like a couple weeks then ask ur doctor maybe. Also maybe doing streches could help ease the pain.

Possible growing pains...but could be a potassium deficiency. Eating bananas will add potassium to your body.
