I am lean , and slim guy.. My worry is my tummy is getting bigger day by day. I walk a lot every day. I am not obesse at all. When I consulted a doctor , for diarhea and stomach upset - he told me it is due to gastro intestine infection and same is the cause for bulging tummy . He asked me to stop eating fat food like meat ,milk products, coffee, spicy food for sometime. I had some tablets for 2 weeks and followed the advice of doctor on food. Now diarhea and stomach upset is in control. but I am afraid that my tummy is still bulging. Any idea why this is happening ?

To megalomaniac,
I am well aware that this cannot be diagnozied over Yahoo answers, my idea is to take input from others who might have experienced similar issues.

your bulging tummy may be caused by a fluid retention caused by stomach upsets and maybe youve been walking and not doing stomach exercises.
but i think you should give your a chance to get fully recovered and better before worrying about getting fit.dont worry you will have alot of time after you recover to work out to lose it.
dont worry, give it time and it may go down:)

Okay. When I was a baby I had extremely skinny legs and arms and a bulging tummy. Every time I would eat I would either throw up, have diarhea or be constipated. My mom, after seeing thousands of doctors finally found out that I had a gluten intolerance. Which is in bread, pasta...almost everything processed. In my opinion you need to find a gastroenterologist and have some blood work done to find out if you might have celiac disease. Sometimes people who have it - the blood test still shows up negative, and you will propably have to get an endoscopy done.
Please just go to a search engine and look up celiac disease and see if you have all the symptoms because it sounds a lot like what I went through. It can be a very serious disease that effects all areas of your body and immune system if not taken care of.
Most doctors don't know a lot about this disease and that is why it is usually misdiagnosed over and over again.

See a gastro intestinal specialist could be a lot of things. Could even be a tumor What is it you eat now? How much and how often? Could just be irritable bowel syndrome I would look IBS up on the internet that may help. I had stomach problems all the Dr could ever tell me was don't drink caffiene once I decided for myself it was nothing I kept drinking caffiene, I have stomach problems still but nothing some tums can't take care of. A lot of times it is just STRESS thinking about a stomach problem can make it worse.

This may sound gross but it may be parasites. Everybody has them. You may need a cleanse. You may be surprised what comes out of you but it cant hurt to get a cleanse. That's where men get them is in the stomach mostly. A marine had the same problem and he and his wife couldn't figure out what was going on he was ripped with muscles but his stomach was bulged out . He took a cleanse and wow what a difference. I'm not a doctor or nothing but that's my two cents.

Honestly, I would look for second opinion and perhaps for other causes. Mostly women, but also men, can develop a cyst that can grow to enormous sizes inside the stomachs. My daughter had hers spotted accidentally, but it would be a watermelon size if they didn't remove it then. Also, this may be genetic disorder. Some people do not gain weight anywhere else in their bodies but only in one part, such as stomach. Try researching some web sites for that and see what other doctors tell you. observe your eating habits and watch for changes and pain or whatever other symptoms you may have and perhaps overlook.

You could be bloated from gas but thats not something that us Yahoos can diagnose over the internet. What is more likely is that you simply eat more calories than you burn. Different bodies store fat slightly differently.
Walking is great but try to do some other kind of exercise to supplement or increase your walking a bit. Most people can adjust their diet to healthier choices as well.

I had the same problem until I cut down on carbs like bread, rice, cereal, and chips. They go straight to the gut. Ever heard of a beer gut? Well its the same principle. Beer is nothing but carbs and they go straight to your gut. That's why you see beer drinkers with slim bodies but huge guts - because they drink so much beer. So cut down on the carbs and eat vegetables in their place (not fruit, they're full of sugar). Hopefully you should some results like mine too.

Sounds like you're bloated (gas) and/or retaining water. Increase your water intake. Don't drink alcohol. Continue to follow your doctors advice.
