Yes, as someone else said, even though it's 2007, it's part of being a gentleman. Plus, when a women offers to pay her own way, it often means that you won't be seeing her again.

We all know that this comes from the fact that women generally didn't make very much, if anything. But, it is also a way to show your financial stability. Women tend to prefer men who are financially stable. This is not being a gold-digger, or shallow, it's being sensible when choosing a possible partner in life.

Ya i know its a pain in the *** man. You gotta pay for everything, or you'll prolly wont have a second chance, and probably be called cheap.
Not all women are like this though. Some understand and will pay half :) Its rare though.

Yes if you have asked her out, you should pay. I must admid that I do like to be treated like a lady and the man pays for the meal in the beginning. I will however if we go somewhere after for drinks say that now its my turn to pay.

yes if you want to see that person again....just come prepared...i don't know how it goes now, but but i'm a woman and when i get to know someone i come prepared to pay my half (just in case). i wait to see what the guy is going to do and if there is hesitation i pay my part...but then i don't think about calling him again....so pay it, that's being a gentleman..u may meet someone that has no problem paying their half or even paying for yours (it happens)

the rule is, the person that asks the other person out is the person that pays, so when i ask i prepare to pay....good luck!

Typically the guy pays the bill on most first dates but I dont think it is a requirement.

Yes, if he asked her out then he should pay. Yes it is 2007, but chivalry is not dead. Women like to be treated special.

The inviter pays. So if the guy asks-he pays. If the girl asks-she pays. It is always polite to offer to pitch in or leave tip if you are the invitee.

it dependes on the circumstances i mean if you are meeting for the first time and going for a coffee it would not hurt to split the bill, but if you invite the lady out for dinner yes unless she offers to pay her way it is expexcted

I at least like to see the lady in question offer to pay her way, if she's happy to just take, take then i'd not be amused and not very likely to be inviting her out again!
