The Bible is a library of 66 books by over 40 authors. Anytime you get a collection like that, you are probably going to need some help in knowing how to read through it (what order, etc), and how to relate the books - at what point in history did the prophet Amos write his book of political satire? What was the political climate? Who was the king? If you do not know, Amos would be a confusing book to read. If you do not know the geography of the Bible, it can be a confusing book. So you do have to do some studying and learning to be able to understand some portions of it.
Some portions of the scripture, such as the last half of Exodus and most of Leviticus and Duetronomy are legal documents. List of laws for governing a nation, running courts, conducting various religion rituals and holidays. If you have ever read a law book, they are "boring and confusing" also. But I doubt that you would want to toss out all the laws in the country because they are a dull read. But they are important as the principles in them form much of the framework for the laws in western civilization.
I like a quote by Mark Twain when he was aksed about the Bible and whether he found it dull and confusing. He supposedly answer "It's not the parts I don't understand that worry me, its the parts I do."

The Bible is the best of all books, and yes to some people it is very confusing and could be boring, but these people are the ones who has nothing good to say about the Bible because they believe in something else. The Bible is not confusing, and it sure isn't boring either. When you read it you have to read it with an open mind. When I first read the Bible it was very confusing to me but through the years it has become much more clear to me because I was seeking and I had the desire to get into it even more so. So if you were to reread it again with an open mind bet you would to understand it a little better each time. Joy and Peace

I agree the Bible is the best Book in the world, and at one time i felt the same way till I realized it isn't the Book that has the problem it was me, I didn't understand it because I didn't try to, it was boring only because I let it be that way..Many years later I have realized it is the Book of life and it does have many interesting things in it. When you read it you can make it however you want it to be. Boring or confusing, confusion is from the devil God hasn't given us a spirit of confusion..Before you read it pray and bind the devil away and ask God for understanding, wisdom and knowledge of His word..

Yes the Bible has sold more copies and been translated in to more languages than any other book in the world...
I used to think it boring and really difficult to understand until i gave my heart to Jesus one night and went home and started to read it .. and WOW...it all started to make sense. It's because when you become born again as Jesus talks about in the gospels; the spirit of God comes to dwell in you ( The Holy Spirit ) the spirit reveals what it's all about..it's really impossible to understand until you experience it. You know some people think it's boring being a Christian..i used to think this myself..but i can assure you it's the most exciting thing that will ever happen to you. Walking with The Lord and getting to know Him, nothing compares with this...

It's not.
As with any book, it must be read in context (in this case, in the context of God's redemption of mankind - the real story of the Bible).
But the Bible, if it is truly the word of God, is so much more than an ordinary book. It comes "alive" for someone who knows God. Any Christian will tell you of how the Bible speaks to them personally and specifically.
Although it sounds petty, all I can tell you is that the Bible is boring and confusing for unbelievers, but it becomes exciting for those who know Christ.

There is no IF'S, the Bible is ALWAYS the #1 Bestseller. They quit including it in the top bestsellers because it was and is number 1.
It isn't boring. Confusing? I'll admit, it does cause you to think about what this and that really means. I stick to the King James Version. You could try a more simple everyday language version if that would make it better for you.
God Bless and have a great weekend.

The Bible is a spiritual book - in Hebrews the writer tells us, "The Word of God is alive and active and sharper than any two edged sword."
It's not like other books - it's alive - but it's really only alive to those who have had their spirit's renewed. "God is Spirit and those who worship Him must worship Him in Spirit."
I've been a Baptist a lot longer than I've been a Christian (actually I'm Methodist now) STILL I found it extremely boring until I was born again.
I can't put it down sometimes. I also recommend an easier to understand Bible like the New Living Paraphrase...........I love it.

What Hogie said. I find it neither confusing nor, overall, boring. Yes there are some parts that aren't as interesting as other (Leviticus for example), but the Bible as a whole is incredible.
If you find it both of these things it might be that you're blocking yourself from it since it would force you to face the reality of sin and it's penalty.

If a book is hard to understand and is confusing, I can assure you that the New York Times and the Chigaco Post and the TIME Magazine would not say "It's the best book of all time"
If you were to put the Bible for review...and if they KNEW it was a the Bible...."OH, yes, insightful and ....who knows..might have come from the Lord our God."
Can you imagine the intellectuals at the New York Times saying that?
Yet...that's how most people react with the bible.

I don't find it confusing at all.... nor boring... well, maybe parts in a couple chapters... but the rest is pretty interesting and actually means a whole lot.
I had peers in my Calculus class say the same thing about math.... 'why is it so boring' but I love math and science too... so I guess maybe some people just wanna read the comics in the paper?
