I have a wedding ring on my finger(for 1 1/2 years) and in the past few months I have been getting redness and little itchy bumps on one side of my ring finger. When I take my ring off it takes about a week to heal. I have tried scrubbing the ring, cleaning it with alcohol, etc and nothing works. It just seems weird because its only on one half of my finger. Need some suggestions please

I have exactly the same thing and if I really itch it, it weeps. It's eczema. I sometimes get eczema in other places but the only place on my hands is the ring finger. I also have platinium wedding and engagement rings so it's not a metal allergy. Sometimes, it's so weepy and sore, I don't even wear my rings.
Eczema is stress related and it always makes me wonder why the eczema appears where the wedding ring is - maybe trying to tell me something? Anyway, get some cortisone cream and just a apply it a few times a day and try not to sleep with the ring on

You may be having some type of allergic reaction. It might only be occurring now due to a change you made recently, such as soaps/detergents, diet or medications. See if a antihistamine like benadryl helps, they even sell it in a skin cream.

you are having an allergic reaction to whatever base metal was used in making the ring. You might try coating the inside of the ring with clear nail polish to keep your skin from contacting the metal.

It sounds like eczema for sure. I would try a lotion called Dermarest. It's awesome! And I found that it works better than a cortizone cream.

i think the gold plating is coming off of your ring its a common problem. if you have insurance or a warranty on the ring send it back to the company just tell them the problem. the gold is going through a chemical change probably from the salt in your sweat.
