TR, I couldn't come up with an equation that predicts the existence of air. Believers should be able to show significant evidence, but making the hurdles too high could injure your credibility. Remember the hollow earth guy who had a little cult which believed we were on the INside of the earth? He offered a $10,000 reward to anyone who could prove him wrong using a purely mathematical argument. Well, of course it couldn't be done. I think we run into the same problem here. The other requirements should be enough. Lizzie, asking questions to prove or disprove possibilities is exactly what he is doing. So when you "analyze" your data, what research has shown a relationship between such data and ghosts? How do you know you're not reading dream projections or Martian psychic transmissions or superior beings of a parallel Universe, passing through ours? Queen shar, science thrives in gray areas. If ghosts have *any* kind of physical effect, (cold, in your case), then it has a physical nature which can be investigated theoretically and experimentally. If we can study things like black holes, proton decay, gravity waves, and neutrinos, then ghosts seem well within our reach. Yet not one shred of physical evidence has ever been presented and there remains no theoretical framework. Why? John, which do you consider more valuable: factual knowledge or idle speculation? Verifiable phenomena or superstitious folklore? Which do you think has the better chance of revealing the truth about something?

If with love you mean the principled agape love -- then my opinion is a loud yes.
If you look inward you'll see that your body works on that principle. Whichever body part needs the attention, food, cleaning, special because of illness -- it gets it so that the whole may function eventually smoothly again. Thus the hand doesn't begrudge the foot extra attention if it needs it; rather, when one body part is ill the whole is ill -- as the Bible states.
If our society /ies could comprehend and enact this in a global manner for the whole society -- we would have paradise. Thus our selfishness is what is causing our illnesses -- this also James the apostle said.

Yes, from several perspectives, in terms of the adaptiveness of the behavior--why it evolved, studies of emotions in related species, neurophysiological basis and molecular genetics as well. There are books filled with information from each of these perspectives.
But you will get better answers if you ask scientific questions in the science section rather than the religious section.

Chemical reactions can be measured. For example, a recent study in Psychoneuroendocrinology found that increased levels of plasma nerve growth factor were found when the love emotion was activated.

Feelings of attachment for your fellow human beings encourage you to stick with them and work together with them -- thus improving the group's overall chances of survival and the passing on of an individual's genes to future generations.
But knowing this doesn't take anything away from the beauty of Shakespeare's sonnets or your favorite love songs. We still feel what we feel, regardless of the source of those feelings....

There's a lot of things that can't be explained scientifically.
For example, a bald-headed geek who runs straight into the eye of every hurricane, year after year, defies all logic.

NONE! It is because LOVE comes from THE LORD GOD. Thus, GOD is love. However, lust can be explain psychologically / scientifically But the true love can be explained by FAITH IN GOD which means that we have to rely to GOD as there are many spheres of knowledge yet unknown to mankind which is merely in the infancy stage even in technological development. As an example scientists can not even defy gravity wtihout using a counterforce; or scientists have not yet conquered cancer diseases; and cannot invent an atom which is under the power of GOD; or see the level of 0.01 to the minus 40 or even 100 meters; or feel the billionth, billionth, billionth of a second even in front of a man. THANKS GOD; FEAR GOD; PRAISE GOD; GLORIFY GOD; HONOR GOD; LOVE GOD AND WORSHIP GOD. Pls visit my website-http://groups.yahoo.com/group/THEGOODNEWSOFTHEKINGDOM/

I looked into this to present to my chemistry class in high school. Here's the article I found.

I've even referred to it in letters to my girlfriend. Good stuff.
