Someone likes me. Actually, two people used to like me. But now the one person is going out with someone else, and the other person seems to like other people along with me, more TeenVoque material girls. The person going out with someone else is going out with this tall, willowy, almost perfect-looking girl. I think I'm pretty, my height is about average, but I'm not into all the common trends around now. I'm more of a country girl at heart, and I dress in jeans and T-shirts from places like Old Navy. They aren't ugly, but they are nothing like Abercrombie. I guess u could say I'm shy and awkward. I can never find just the right thing to say. So is there something wrong with me? Is there something wrong with being quiet and different with brown eyes and dirty blonde hair in a suburban shallow middle school? Is there a single person on earth who prefers brown eyes over blue?

My clothes aren't ugly or out of style. They are just a different style than everyone else's. Not as preppy or flashy or "glamorous"

Unfortunately these days, in middle school and high school... the only thing people have to judge you by are you clothes... and I mean that by saying that the kids are that immature that they WILL judge you by your clothes. Dress up, look stunning everyday that you can. If you look average you will fall into that category. And believe me when I say that the social aspect will follow... just be friendly to absolutely everyone that you come in contact with. It will pay off in the end.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with you. Being preppy and all that is so fake. Nearly everyone is, so there's nothing unique about it. As for the brown eyes, I have them too. I used to want green eyes or something else, anything but brown. I then learned that they are better then blue or green ever could be because (as cliche as this sounds) accept yourself for who you are. There's nothing wrong with you at all. I love brown eyes, and you should learn to also. Mine look so pretty in the light. They're a lighter brown and they can look drop-dead gorgeous sometimes. Better then blue could ever look. Everyone's getting contacts so they can have blue eyes. Before you know it, you may be the only one left with brown eyes. lol. Don't conform and follow the trends. It's...stupid. Stay who you are and love you for you. I can bet you there are guys out there who will do just that!! Good luck, babe.

Don't sweat the small stuff.... Of course you are pretty- maybe just introverted a bit... Maybe it's time to try something new or join a club with other people that share your interests.. You never know when/where you'll meet Mr. Right or if he will indeed be all that you've ever imagined... Embrace yourself, you are the only you out there so let everyone else see it... As for the clothes and the glamour stuff- that's not a big deal. Being yourself is- and plenty of people will flock to you if you let them get to know you.. I know it's difficult, but introduce yourself, make eye contact with people that you want to meet and get to know.. Give compliments, real ones not phoney... You should be fine....Good luck and have fun...

From what you say I see nothing wrong with you at all, perfectly good looking sexy girl who refreshingly doesn't follow the herd and dress in the same uniform as every other girl. Individualism is good and for me an important factor. With regards being shy only you can conquer that by believing more in yourself and being positive. Forget what others might say and be yourself. Have an opinion and be proud to be your. Blokes will suddenly be beating a path to your door i promise.

You've answered your own question because you asked if it was alright to be different in a place that is shallow ... since you described the place as to being shallow you've already grasped the essence of it and obviously you are happy with your self being unshallow so why ask others of their opinion on you?

Love brown eyes - now happily married (sorry you sound nice though!) - my wife has brown eyes and as far as I can remember all my previous girlfriends had brown eyes. You sound like perfect girlfriend material and I can guarentee you will find someone soon. - Good luck though.

These guys sound like losers if they don't like you just cos of your hair!They don't sound worth your time,and your clothes sound cool!Hang in there!Oh and brown eyes are really pretty,very mysterious!You sound pretty,move on from them!
Oh and id go for dirty blond over bright orange/red hair any day!It looks pretty bad (on me anyway)!So id say your rather lucky!

you will find out!! girls like you, who are diffrent then the crowd, and act themself, those are the girls the guys really want. but have patience, cause while in school people have their prioritys all messed up, and all they care about is materialistic crap. btw i love brown eyes, my fiance has them and they are beautiful.
