Are you also gaining inches? Bear in mind that muscle weighs more than fat, so if you are toning up and building muscle mass, your weight may increase, but your shape will become tighter and more toned.

If this isn't the case, ask your GP to be referred to a dietician/nutritionist - they will check that you eating all the food that you need to avoid your body storing fat.

Good luck,
Kitten

EDIT: If you've been on this new regime for 10 months, then I would definitely suggest going to speak to a dietician/nutritionist. With most diets, you start off by cutting down on the calories that you were consuming before, not too drastically or your body will go into starvation mode and store the fat that you do eat. As you lose weight, you should then keep gradually increasing the amount of exercise that you do to keep burning off the fat.

Write down everything that you eat and drink for a week (BE HONEST!!!) and then ask your GP for a referral. Include all ingredients like cooking oil and garnishes, gravy, sauces.

If the dietician agrees that this diet should be working, then your GP will probably start some tests to check you don't have any problems that could account for this.

Good luck.

Great job for starting to exercise! It's refreshing to see on here a person who doesn't make excuses for not working out. Good for you! But if you've been exercising for a little more than a week, you can't expect dramatic results right away. Sometimes it takes a bit of time to jump start your metabolism to lose weight. However, keep in mind that muscle weighs more than fat, and the half a kilo could just be a gain in muscle. Good news, however! An increase in muscle mass also raises your metabolism! Just be patient and keep at it, and you'll see results. Btw, I wouldn't recommend doing such an intense exercise regimen right off the bat, unless you're super motivated. The problem with a lot of people (I did the same thing), is that they overdo it in the beginning and quickly burn themselves out in a few months. It would be far better to incorporate moderate exercise with a bit of strength training and cardio into your lifestyle until it's a part of your regular habit, and increase from there. PS: What everyone is saying is my biggest pet peeve with exercise. FAT DOES NOT TURN INTO MUSCLE. A specialized cell can't just transform into another specialized cell. Fat cells shrink, muscle fibers expand. I'm just saying.

First of all, your body is adjusting to the new dietary regime so there will most likely be changes that it isn't used to at the moment.

How long ago did you start this new regime?

Be patient, it will take time for your body to adjust, even if your mind has already made the adjustment.

Remember, you're doing all the right things.

You should be walking a little faster than normal so that after a 20-minute walk you are slightly out of breath.

This will help to improve your heart but for everything else you will really need to get a balance of cardio- and resistance training to maximise this. Your local gym may be able to give you advice.

Good Luck and keep at it!

If the doctor says you are okay, you might look at the foods you are eating. I lost weight just by cutting back on sugars. I don't have a weight problem, to say I was not fat. When I quit smoking I went from 145 ponds to 195 ponds, I am almost 6 foot tall. The look was not bad but the knees began to hurt, so lost weight. I now am around 179 pounds. It might be some other food but only you will know.

could be a few things:

Water retention, all that fruit and veg has a lot of water and you may be holding on to it doc should help you here

Muscle build up muscle weighs more than fat are you looking more toned?

Slow metabolism you are simply not burning off what you eat. Look at metabolism speeding exercises on the web

Your pregnant (only if you're female!) only you can decide what to do here

You have an underlying medical problem (id go to the docs just to check anyway)

You may have a thyroid disorder or another disorder called cushings disease. Try doing some research on both and go to the doctor. Also before you go to the doctor (for about a week) write down EVERYTHING you eat and drink (some people don't realize that drinks have lots of calories in them so make sure you include them in your list). This will be helpful both to you and your doctor so he will know if its your diet that could be your problem or an underlying condition.
Good Luck!

Check your calories to make sure you're eating between 1200 and 1500. Less and your body might be in starvation mode, more and you might not see the results you're looking for. Also, make sure that you drink lots of water, no sodas. If you are concerned and think you're doing everything right, talk to your doctor, of course. Good luck, are you at least feeling healthier?

How often do you eat though? You should eat at least 5 times a day (snacks and all) even if it's smaller portions. When your body is hungry it will make you gain twice as much the next time you do eat.
