Bet it made him shut up and leave you alone, which makes it right! :-)

Don't go asking him to borrow his hedge-clippers anytime soon, though.

To people like this neighbor I would say God is listening and He is good kind and loving, He judges each and every person by the things he has done in life not by all these so called Christians spew out of thier mouths. They have nothing better to do then look over the fence at others, they should try to really look on their own side and maybe they will find that they are not as good a Christians as they profess to be

I think I would have told him that was not a great selling point. I consider myself a christian and I make booboos all the time. I think your neighbor should re-read the Bible. My Mama(I miss her greatly) said alot of people we think will be in heaven won't be and alot we think won't be will. But I think he was a little to self-righteous for my taste. My answer was probably not an intelligent one, but thats my opinion.

No, as a matter of fact, most people that feel that they are going to 'heaven' I would not want to be around them, especially for eternity.

sounds hell funny lol. would of been good to watch his reaction. if anything, i think it was rude and judgemental for him to say it, which makes him even less christian than he thinks he is

Man, I can't think of anything quippy to say! But it does remind me of what Jesus said to the Pharisees in Matthew 7:21-23

“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’

Ouch! And again in Matthew 23:13-15

“But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you shut up the kingdom of heaven against men; for you neither go in yourselves, nor do you allow those who are entering to go in. Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you devour widows’ houses, and for a pretense make long prayers. Therefore you will receive greater condemnation.
“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you travel land and sea to win one proselyte, and when he is won, you make him twice as much a son of hell as yourselves."
