I'm really surprised that there are people out there who don't accept Evolution because it goes against their "creation" belief.

And people, please refrain from "It's just a theory" argument.
Review "scientific theory" before stating your case.

*raising hand high* Me! Me! Me!

I've never seen the day that I'd have the chutzpah to tell Almighty God HOW He can create. I seriously doubt He's gonna alter His plans because I don't approve of His methods. Not even Lucifer could manage that and we all know what happened to him when he tried.

I got no problem with an omnipotent, eternal, infinite Being starting things off with a set of parameters (the Laws of Physics) and then making a Big Bang and allowing His ex nihilo matter to do its own schtick according to those Laws until finally something evolves that looks like a good candidate for the infusion of an immortal soul. Then a little "Zap" and POOF! Eve. All her children would carry that "birthmark" (see mitochondrial DNA) and all her female descendants would pass it along to all their children. I think that DNA is the "birthmark", if you will, of a human being equipped with an immortal soul.

Creationism is a crock containing enough bovine end product to fertilize Iowa and half of Kansas! Gimme a God who's got a lot more moxie and savoir faire than that childish nonsense.

Not that He couldn't do it that way, of course. But why, when He's got eternity to play around in, would He jam it all up in just a few days or a few "DAYS"? NOT logical!

And no matter what else you might think of Him or His methods, you gotta admit, anyone who came up with the Laws of Physics is logical!

There are two ways to look at Creation:
1. the World was created by God in 7 human days.
2. the World was created by God in 7 'days', which needn't coincide with the human measurement of days. This means that He did create everything, but not all of a sudden.. maybe in millions of human years.
But things couldn't have just appeared from nothing and nowhere and be so perfect. All things that exist must have a cause that determines their existence, right?
many scientists who don't believe in God found many flaws in the evolutionary theory and can't explain a lot of inaccuracies.. They admit that and some of them went further and accepted the possibility - the only one able to explain it all clearly- that the world has an Intelligent Designer.
There are lots of books on the subject, if you wanna see for yourself. Unfortunately, I can't borrow you any, cuz I'm pretty far away from you. ;))

Let's see. Raised Episcopalian, shifted to Unitarian in my teens, with a lot of Catholic friends growing up. It was my understanding that Genesis was meant to be read as a parable, just like the parable of the ten talents.

It makes clear that humanity is unique in creation, what our role is, that we're all family, and a dozen other complex ideas rolled into one. But it isn't meant to bee seen as a scientific document.

Imagine my surprise as a 14 year old when i first met someone, a Southern Baptist, who thought it was meant as history AND NOTHING ELSE.

And the latest news on evolution is:Straight from the News Room last night. They have found a large birds skeletal remains. They have always believed that these birds evolved into something smaller. But wait a minute folks! This one has changed that theory all together.Pluto is no longer a planet. How many children have been taught this in school.Something we were told by, you know who....The guys in the little white coats.God He is the same yesterday as He is today. His theory on creation remains the same.PRAISE HIS HOLY MARVELOUS NAME! I just love to say that ! Try it sometime.

Any one that will pay attention to the principles of hermeneutics will know there is no reason to read that section of Genesis in any other way except literal.

I am a Christian and even when I was a child.....I always knew that creation was the truth....and evolution was just a theory that tries to deny the One true creator.

Evolution (or as I like to call it "evil-lution") is simply man's excuse for denying God
