Sounds to me like the blinker unit has/is giving up, it's found under the dash usually near the steering column, it is the little plastic module that makes the ticking sound when you use your indicators. It should just unplug and are only a few dollars to replace.

Most likely you are experiencing a faulty bulb filament or a corrosion problem in the socket or bulb connections. When it quits next time, get out and look to see which light is not on steady and that is the circuit to open up and start looking. Good luck.

which ever side stays on check bulbs on that side for a white or light green powdery film on contacts. you will need to take bulb out. clean by using a contact cleaner that you can get at local auto parts store. replace bulb if needed.

Most likely is a corroded bulb contact you will have to walk around the car next time it happens slap the lens that is not lit up and shake the bulb it might start flashing. that is the one...;

Sounds like you might have a burnt out bulb..
If its only happing on one side, Check the bulbs on that side.

Check your directional bulbs, one may be burned out, creating this effect.

change the light gulb, check the fuse, or it could be a bad wire.
