I see people who ask questions about the Holocaust (many cannot even spell the word) often here on YA, yet ask so few other questions about the Second World War. One could almost get the impression that the Holocaust was the only evil that occurred in this period of time, and the Jews were the only ones to suffer.
I invite you, the person who asked this question, to read up on the Second World War, and learn more about the millions who died, both military and civilian, as a result of the invasion and occupation by either Nazi Germany, Fascist Italy, or Imperial Japan.
Your question seems more concerned with the image the world has of America than it does for the victims of evil not related to the Holocaust.

That would be debatable. The holocaust did not really get kicked into motion until after Poland was invaded and Czechoslovakia was annexed to Hitler. After the Poland invasion, France and England condemned Germany's actions, but did nothing else. (Typical for France). When Hitler wanted Czechoslovakia, he actually wanted to invade and fight for it, but again England and France caved in and ultimately divided Czechoslovakia and gave him most of it to appease him. (Again, typical for France) Had we condemned Germany ourselves, (we were just watching from the sidelines) and actually went in and invaded, we would have been viewed, most likely, as not much better than Germany. This, despite the fact that Germany blatantly violated the Versailles Treaty by building up a military. Germany could have been stopped by the other European nations before it got going good, but they didn't. If we had gone in, Europe would have most likely been split, with half singing our praises for stopping them and the other half saying we were stepping on their toes and that we should have given Germany a chance. It sounds an awful lot like the way we are viewed today.

The Holocaust was a slope of gradually increasing abuses against the Jewish population. At what point should have the US have intervened. There was much antisemitic behavior in Europe long before Hitler came along. Should we have intervened then. For that matter, discrimination against Jews was far from rare in the US during the early 1900's. It was clear to everyone that after krystalnact that the Jews in Germany were in trouble. Many countries tried to help in the escape from Germany. But no one stepped in. There was no major action taken by any power during WWII that was directly in aid of the Jewish people.

The point is Britain tried to get rid of Hitler not Roosevelt and USA only entered the war because they were attacked and they only went after Saddam because they were attacked.
The big difference is who put Saddam in power in the first place and he didn't invaded any elses country we invaded his.
There is no justification for the war in Iraq all it has done is put the world on the verge of WW3.

maybe we'd desire to constantly seem at nature first. In nature the biggest toughest animal calls the pictures, frequently. this is how actual existence works, we will not get away this organic reality, as we are animals besides. yet do no longer complication, issues are going to alter, i believe a recession happening in some years (regrettably) and China will honestly be the hot superpower. in case you opt for to end this now then bypass do something else different than posting at Yahoo solutions. There are a great purchase of anti-US government communities, bypass locate one, or maybe bypass away the rustic for a extra suitable one, which does no longer sound so undesirable honestly, rather at the same time as the U. S. greenback remains stable. stable luck.

Well in hindsight America wasnt really a good nation in WW2 because they only bothered to join because of pearl harbour, even though by joining they helped the Allies to win it.
If they'd invaded Nazi Germany with the Allies then i dont think there would be that negative image of them being selfish after the war.

Clever question.
We would have been seen not, perhaps as "evil," but certainly as "wrong." The difference between "then," and "now" (Iraq) is that now we can actually get away with that stuff.

We would have been seen as evil and probably attacked by all of Europe as there was no reason at all to attack them then.
