My hair gets so burnt and dry from straightening and hairdrying it everyday, I use a Garnier Serum at the moment but i cant really use serums because they make my hair oily.
I don't know what my friend uses but her hair looks so glossy and so fine at the ends (not split ends like mine!)..I want a good heat protector that will protect my hair, not cost to much and preferably not a serum. Do you know of any?

New Iron's now help with this problem, But make sure your hair is totally dry before ever using a straight iron
My hair was very unhealthy from this, I used a very good conditioner, left it in for hours a couple of times a week
Also, I took some good advice from someone. They said never wash your hair everyday, It might sound gross, but I waited several days before washing my hair for over 3 months..
Now my hair is in great shape ...
good luck

Most heat protectants are made from silicones. Silicones coat the hair without penetrating the shaft, so they sit on top of it as a sort of protective layer. But most silicone-based products like Garnier have other ingredients in them like water or alcohol, and this gives you unwanted effects like the oiliness. Plus, they detract from the silicone's action on your hair.

Try a pure silicone like Simply Stylin. It doesn't have any fillers in it and is very light weight and non-greasy. It coats the hair completely and protects it really well from heat. Plus, it adds a brilliant shine and makes the hair very soft.

They give out free samples on their website www.simplystylinhair.com.

Good luck!

when blow drying your hair use a conditioner to protect it from the heat and use silicon after blow dry it helps with the split ends, and leave it looking nice and glossy not oily.

Hmmmm my hairdresser told me before straightening to use the cheapest possible hair spray - just spray it on each tress before you straighten. All you want to do is introduce moisuture - then that moisture gets taken out and not your hairs!! Does that make sense.

Incidentally, straightening every day is soooo not good for it :(

Redken Heat Therapy. You only need a tiny bit.
