Yes it is completely normal. I wouldn't worry about what others say. There are more than likely uncomfortable with their bodies.
I have news for you people: THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE HUMAN BODY !!
Unfortunately, in most communities it is illegal to walk around in the manner in which you speak of. Personally I feel if it you want to you should be able to. there are entirely too many prudes in the USA.
I suggest you seek out and join a nudist or clothing optional community. That way you can just be yourself without (God Forbid) offending anyone else.

I have friends that where thongs [I sometimes do to] And they do it on purpose just to see what kind of pervs are looking to see them. I NEVER do that i think that's just embarrassing, but one time i was in one of my classes and a boys [somewhat cute] came up to me and told me to pull up my pants i turned beat red i didn't even mean to have my thong showing. But usually if a girl WANTS someone to see there thong they will have it showing when they walk and defiantly bend down. So what I'm thinking is that they are not meaning to show there thongs.

Go to the nearest police precinct and do this while the guys and gals get off work, this will give them a laugh and might give the gals a big lift. Then you will get a free place to stay for awhile and a free medical examination.
